Who are you?

Better yet, who do you want to be?

I think as we enter 2011 there is no bigger question for each individual to answer. I believe we are gifted with something we are destined to do, to accomplish, during these turbulent times. You are very special, or you would not be here right now. You have something the world needs, and deep in your heart you know that. If you are not living your light, then 2011 is the time to start.

Start by asking yourself what makes you happy? What makes you feel full of energy and hope? What brings you a sense that time has stood still and you are in the midst of something greater than yourself?

For each person it is different. But you are unique and incredibly powerful. That is what 2011 is going to be about - finding your destiny through positive intention to do so. Living from the heart. When in doubt about how to act or respond to a challenge - ask yourself - what would love do? You will automatically be in the right frame of mind to make the right choice or decision. Living from the heart is what we are destined to do, and 2011 is the time to start.

I love that line "time stood still".
when I am in my weaving studio, that is the perfect description. It feels good to do what I know I am meant to do.
I highly recommend it.

I want to live in my heart all the time, Nancy. This is the best and most fulfilled I ever feel. So I resolve to do just that, as often as I can. My heart is open and waiting for love to fill it up! :-)

My mother always told me I was the catalyst, that I am able to mediate between people or incidents in conflict. I think sometimes that is not such a bad thing to be, but often I feel as if I am a spectator in other folks' lives. Maybe this year I will become a famous painter ...

... or maybe not. :-)

Happy New Year to you and your family, Nancy.

Cheers,
Jo

Wow, this really shouted out at me and I am so grateful you wrote it and I was lead here to read it. In total honesty, I allowed myself to be beaten down to the point of crawling into a cocoon and not participating in the details and acts of daily life. I have been lost and numb. Lately I've had this nagging thought that I had to push myself to do something to help someone else. I realize now it is because my greatest passion after motherhood was advocating for developmentally disabled adults. Thank you for throwing out a life preserver; reminding me of my purpose. Wishing you a very Happy New Year filled with good health, love, laughter, joy and prosperity!

Nancy, These are the very questions I have been asking myself this season. Who am I? Where do I belong? How can I contribute to this universe. Circumstances have released me from every natural bond and responsibility; so now what? Volunteer? Travel to the poorest provinces? The Peace Corp? I am able to give and want to give my heart and energy and talents to those in need... I have yet to find the path that my life needs to go... hopefully I will find it in 2011 and I know that wherever I am led, it will be in the giving. I feel certain that my destiny now is in giving.

I love this Nancy! Great things for each of us to ask ourselves and to ponder as we enter a new year...here's to 2011 and living our lights...here's to each one of us living from our hearts and doing what we each are suppose to do. Yes, what would love do? Perfect! XX

Yes, I totally agree. Back to your question: who do you want to be? “I want to explore the best I can be.” Here's to hoping for a better year for all of us. Thanks for such a good food for thought!
