The Trinity Secret

I listened to an interesting interview last night on CMN with Marie Jones on her new book The Trinity Secret.

Do you ever wonder why some things always seem to come in threes? We even say death "always come in threes." Why most religious texts have elements of threes?  (The Father, The Son, The Holy Ghost) Could the Trinity actually be the Law of Attraction? You think a thought, you act on the thought, the thought manifests... Could a simple mathematical equation be the source of creation? Marie Jones makes a case for this possibility.

So how can we make this work for us? Her suggestion is to first discover what may be holding us back. Is  our subconscious blocking whatever it is that we wish to have happen? Is it old programming that was instilled in our childhood? Is it a belief within that says we are not worthy?

Start a list of all of your beliefs and give them the stress test. It may be time to reevaluate.

Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

Visualization

In the early years of my spiritual development I decided to try visualizing what I wanted to manifest. In those early days I wanted very much to evolve spiritually, but also had desires for material things, which is a very human trait.  Things such as houses. It was during that time when many people had the same desires, or our landscapes would not be peppered with McMansions.

At any rate, I had just read Shakti Gawain's "Creative Visualization" and decided to give it a try it by visualizing myself living in big beautiful homes. More than one. (I also had a desire to live in other places.) So I set about following Shakti's advice - putting myself into a calm, relaxed state and then visualizing myself walking through these homes, enjoying how pretty they were, feeling all the feelings one associates with being in beautiful surroundings. During this time living in something of this magnitude was very far from my realm of possibility. I was a stay-at-home mom attending college, living a very middle-class lifestyle, with a husband that had no desire to move. Nonetheless, I had my dreams... shallow as they were.

Cut to today.

I now live in a very lovely home that we are renting from people who obviously had the same dreams. It is my third lovely home in six years. The other two were homes that we owned and sold, as we moved around the country for my husband's job. We are renting this home because over the course of the last few years our furnishings grew. Otherwise, we would not be here. The people who own this house have moved to smaller digs as well. Obviously, they found the same thing we did - bigger is not necessarily better. But we both had to experience the contrast to learn that lesson. I think that may be what life is all about - experiencing contrasts to understand what is truly important to us.

My point?

Creative visualization works. Whether you come at it from a very pointed, conscious manner, or are unconscious and letting your energy create willy nilly, what you think about and put your energy into becomes your eventual reality. You are the driver of your own boat. People that are highly successful are putting their life force into creating whatever it is that they feel passionate about. Science is catching up with this concept. It is now believed by many that on a subatomic level the world is possibility. That by just observing - we can change a wave into a particle, or a particle into a wave. It is the expectation of the observer that actually affects the outcome.

I tell this story because I know that my living arrangements are a product of what I purposely manifested those many years ago. It takes time for the atoms and particles to arrange themselves into what we want. We are energy. We live in a world that is made up of energy. I believe we are living our "dream" world. Making sure that dream is the one you want to live is the challenge. After all, there is a time gap. Simply directing our thoughts to being grateful, kind, nonjudgmental and loving is a step in the right direction. After all, our physical desires may change, but wanting to live in peaceful harmony rarely does.

My new visualization? It is a small house - maybe a tree house (seriously) - living in a community of like-minded people who share the same values as I do for the environment, resources, and life in general. I spend time thinking about it, reading about other similar communities, and designing the concepts from a lifespan perspective. I put myself into calm relaxed states and walk through the neighborhood where everyone smiles and waves, because they are all my friends and family.

To be continued sometime in the future...

The Vortex

I am in the process of learning. I'm reading all sorts of books on a variety of subjects. An ever-evolving education. So I will pass on what I read if I think it might be of value to others. I don't always believe everything I read, just as you probably don't believe everything you read. But sometimes I can extrapolate information that resonates, using it to further my understanding from sources that may seem strange, or out of the ordinary. I try to keep an open mind. This book is different from the science-based books that I've been reading. Believe it or not, many of the practical activities could be collaborative with some prominent psychological theories. Especially using a "wheel" as a device to change negative thinking into positive thinking. I can see how it could work. And it might fit right in with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

This was the first book that I've read by Esther and Jerry Hicks in the popular Law of Attraction series. This book is third in the series, and deals with "The Vortex - where the Law of Attraction assembles all cooperative relationships." The premise being that we are all creators in our lives, but that most of us have no idea how to go about being in control of what we create. This book goes into the steps needed to align ourselves in such a way that we get out of the way of what we want to happen in our lives.

If you can take the material from this book and suspend disbelief about where it is coming from - Abraham, a group of Beings (collective consciousness) and just listen to the teachings, you can gain much from reading this book. The main point is that we are not aligned with "who we really are - an extension of source energy (God?), when we are feeling bad. We feel bad because we dwell on bad, or negative thoughts. Thoughts that are thought over and over until they are beliefs. Changing these thoughts is a process, but one that can open up our lives to manifesting the things that we want to happen.

This book would appeal to those individuals who believe energy creates, and we are the creators. It might also appeal to people who are looking for a way to bring their thinking into alignment with how they want to feel. In other words, how to concentrate on the good things in life until it becomes habit, or a part of our belief system. Whether or not you believe any of the ideas relating to the Law of Attraction, it behooves each individual to understand how our thoughts affect our bodies, our relationships, our happiness.

So in the spirit of passing on what I've read that might be of value to someone out there, here is my mini review of The Vortex.

How is your Intention Board?

Remember this post on Intention Boards? Well I thought I would bring you up to date on mine, and what has manifested and what is still in the works:

I had on my board the following intentions (all in short sentences or pictures cut from magazines):

THE GOOD LIFE - which included in small print: our countryside, made in america, eco smart, natural beauty, the best way - which is self explanatory - my intention was all of these things. (So far I have not bought a car, hoping to buy an American brand, but just haven't found one that I really like, we are recycling as much as possible and buying eco-friendly products - including cleaning supplies. Natural beauty comes from within - and I am always working on that.)

SIMPLE, WITH SOUL - My intention was to live simply and with great mindfulness. (So far we have been doing this. We're happier and healthier.)

BUDDAH, at Volcano Garden Arts - My belief system is mostly Buddhist, and this was a reminder to live my life with great love and compassion for all living things. (I have read several books by Pema Chodron and refer to her whenever I begin to feel negative for any length of time. She is a great guide during these difficult times.)

FEELING GOOD - My intention was to feel good by living my best life possible. (This continues to be a work in progress, but I am more clear on what is not working in my life.)

EATING BETTER CAN BE YUMMY - My intention was to incorporate more grains and vegetables in our diet without feeling deprived. I also intended to remove simple sugars as much as possible, and to eat less meat. (This also continues to be a work in progress, some weeks are better than others, but we are certainly eating more vegetables. Making all of our own bread from organic 100% whole wheat flour, and eating far less meat.)

BETTER SLEEP, BETTER HEALTH - Good sleep has been a big issue for me for some time. My intention was to figure out holistic ways of sleeping better. (Sorry to report this is still an issue - any attempt at better sleep has not been fruitful. Any suggestions?)

BUY ONLY WHAT YOU LOVE - My intention was to become very mindful of things I thought I wanted, and things that I wanted because I really loved and/or need the item. (I am definitely there. I only buy things that resonate in a good way.)

THE WEST, AT IT'S BEST - My intention was for my husband to attract a job in the West, where our family and friends reside. (Currently two possibilities in the West, one in the Midwest, and one on the East Coast. In the meantime we are enjoying living at beautiful Lake Tahoe. No complaints on this one.)

THE HAPPINESS BUG - My intention was to spread happiness, in any way possible. (I'm working on it...)

THINK OF IT AS ENHANCING YOUR QUALITY OF LIFE - My intention was to focus on those things that are life-enhancing and not negative or draining. (I do not watch any news programs, preferring to read what little news I can handle online. It only upsets me and makes me mad, which does not help in enhancing my quality of life.)

"THERE IS WISDOM IN ADAPTATION. LOOK AT THE SAGUARO, WHICH LIVES FOR MORE THAN 150 YEARS IN THE HARSHEST OF ENVIRONMENTS - Dr. Andrew Weil - My intention is to become adaptable to whatever circumstances may arise in my life. (We have adapted quite well to a completely different way of life. It's all in how you frame things sometimes.)

A PICTURE OF A BIG CACTUS GARDEN - My intention was to make one of these gardens someday. (Hasn't happened yet.)

ADDED SINCE THAT POST:

"THRU EDUCATION, PUBLISHING, AND WRITING ABOUT PHILOSOPHIES, BELIEFS, ETC., YOU WILL EXPERIENCE YOUR MOST PROFOUND TRANSFORMATION. - My intention is to become a more enlightened person, a better person. I feel writing is my way of moving forward in this endeavor. (I think blogging has made me realize my way of moving forward involves writing. Now I'm trying to decide if it is time to move on from blogging and put all my creative efforts into the book I have always wanted to write. I'm not sure I can do both at the same time.)

AN "ABUNDANCE CHECK" MADE OUT TO MY HUSBAND AND MYSELF - My intention was taking the advice of a blogging friend, Leah, who reminds us each month to write a check to ourselves on the new moon for abundance. (All I can say is this works!)

My husband never used his side of the board and now I am moving into that space...

How about you? Did you do an Intention Board? If so, how is it going?

Intention Board

In the spirit of living my best life, I have once again designed an Intention Board. An Intention Board is nothing more than an area that you set aside that displays snippets of what you would like to see manifest in your life. My belief is that thoughts are energy, and when you put energy out into the world, it should be of the quality that you would like it to be. An "aware" energy, if you will.

So I am sharing my Intention Board with my husband, who has never done such a thing before. New territory for my very grounded, nothing but the facts, kind of guy. You can see his side on the right. He doesn't have anything on his side yet, other than that cute vase I found on vacation and some fresh flowers. I think he's waiting to see how I do mine, so he can use it as a template - although he would argue that point.

The bollo ties were his fathers. He passed away about a month or so ago.

My last Intention Board was just a cork board that was in our study in our last house. I had taken a picture of our house and wrote SOLD across it in red marker. It sold. The only one in the neighborhood.

I think it helps to put the board up and then look at it for a day or two and really think about what you want to happen in your life. Find a picture, or saying, that represents that intention. Think about what that sentence or picture means to you as you put it on the board. Then forget it! Just let it go...
