2012

The infamous date is upon us. Time for reflection. Reflection of who we are, why we are here, and where we are headed. I thought I would share some of my ideas as we head into the future.

We started this journey many, many years ago. Before we were born, in fact. We've always known we were different. We had an interest from a very young age with the future. We watched the Jetsons on Saturday mornings as children. We enjoyed James Bond and Star Trek. All because we were fascinated  with the future.

In other words, we've been waiting for this time. Whether we knew it or not.

Some of us continued with books. Reading everything we could find. We've felt that something is not quite right. Almost as if information had been lost somehow. We went to school to find it, but was mostly disappointed as the information seemed timeworn, out of date. We felt there were other ways of doing things, of understanding things, of feeling about things. So we read, we watched, and we waited...

Then came the Internet, and the whole world changed. All of a sudden we were able to communicate with people all over the planet. There was a connection that hadn't been there before. Information screaming through wires, changing lives forever. We were no longer totally reliant on a few news agencies - we could read and listen to information from the participants themselves in real time! The opinion of the news anchor suddenly seemed less important. This is a very important step because we are realizing that much of what we have taken for granted coming from the media may not be the truth, or even the whole story, or just plain propaganda. We feel differently about events when we have a personal connection to the people involved. Our judgements change. We are starting to realize that humanity is interdependent in so many ways.

Globalization has taught us one thing - we are in this together. The massive tons of waste that China spits out each day as it manufactures mass quantities of consumable goods for us, as an example, has an effect on not just China - but the whole world. We all breathe the same air, drink the same water, and eat from the same earth. Having all of our stuff manufactured in a country that has few environmental controls is not going to save us. We are responsible regardless of where we live.

Which brings me to what I think 2012 is all about.

• It is not the end of the world. It is the end of a 26,000 year cycle. But it is also the gestation of the human race. We are going through an evolution.
• The tearing of the veil between worlds begins in 2012. We will begin to see things and experience things that have been hidden for millenia. 
• A great change in thinking will start in the United States and will spread throughout the world. This has to do with learning to think not with the brain but with the heart.
• We may go through earth changes that seem catastrophic and will change how we do things.
• We will learn to do many things the old way - growing food, living in groups that share their resources, caring for one another, and not depending on a centralized government to take care of us. 
• We will have an explosion of new ideas, clean energy, and advanced technologies that respect the earth and all of its inhabitants, including the animals, fish, plants, and non-sentient life forms.
• We will share our personal gifts with humanity. We will be cognizant of our life purpose. We will live authentically.
• No more war, no more starvation. We, as a community of souls, will care for each other and our planet.
• Some will choose to leave because they are not ready for these changes in frequency, which is okay. Not everyone is in the same place at the same time. We are, after all, eternal beings.
• We'll learn to use intention and group thought to change our physical environment.

So will all of this happen at once? I highly doubt it. I think we are on a bell-curve in this process, with 2012 being the top of the bell. But the process has begun and there is no turning back. We will not all go at the same pace, and some will not go at all, but the earth has its own cycle and will do what it needs to do.

So have a wonderful winter solstice and holiday season. Love each other and be kind to all that crosses your path. 

Take this moment in time to visualize your perfect world. Light a candle and send this wish out into the Universe. There has never been a time in history where it has been more powerful.

Events

Whether you are a believer or not, it's obvious the world is amassing some major events. It has been a wild week - especially for Libya, Turkey (earthquake), Thailand (flooding), and of course, here in America with the GOP debates. (Always entertaining in a sad sort of way.) Not to mention Occupy "Everywhere." (I think the sleeping masses are beginning to stir.) We also have a hurricane building as we speak.

So here are a few things I have my eye on:

We have a new moon in Scorpio on the 26th - which is supposed to be great for new beginnings. Or in my case new partnerships. You can read all about that here, and find out what that might mean for you.

The end of the Mayan calendar ends on Friday, if Dr. Calleman is correct, as his date is different from December 21, 2012. You can read about that here.

We have 11-11-11 coming up just around the corner and the Mayan elders have revealed some new information. They have always kept their traditions within their inner circles, but have now been instructed to perform all of their ceremonies in public. The Ceremony of The Thirteen Skulls was last performed 26,000 years ago. They will be traveling with the thirteen Crystal Skulls from New York to Los Angeles for the end ceremony on 11-11-11, with several stops along the way. You can read all about that here, just in case you are like me and had no idea what the Crystal Skulls are all about. Now I wish I was available to watch a ceremony - maybe in Sedona.

Dr. Kashonia has done an in-depth analysis on geomagnetic and total pole reversals, and how they may tie in with 2012 prophecy. You can read about that here, just in case that has been a concern of yours. As you can see - she has been busy. I always like her research because she uses a variety of sources and utilizes critical thinking in her analyses.

With all that's going on in the world right now, I guess it's time to relax, think good thoughts, make sure you are prepared in case of an emergency, and then hang on, because this roller coaster seems to be picking up speed.

11:11 - A Cosmic Prompt?

I read two very interesting articles on the 11:11 phenomenon this past week. First and foremost, the 2012 end date of the Mayan Calendar is on many people's mind. I wrote about it here. I also reviewed a book on the subject, which can be found here. But, I came across something even more interesting regarding the 12/21/2012 date. Did you know that at 11:11 UT is exactly when the winter solstice begins on this date? That maybe, it is not the date so much as the time that is of importance, because the Mayans did not refer to the beginning, middle, or end of the galactic alignment. Maybe they were trying to draw our attention to a specific cosmic event, which will occur on that date at that specific time.

Other interesting phenomena occurs with the number 11. For instance, the magnetic field of the Sun operates a cycle of polarity reversals averaging 11.11 years. The entire mass of the black hole at the center of our galaxy spins once every 11 minutes. The attack on the World Trade Center was September 11. I could go on and on.

So what does this all mean? Is it just coincidence?

Many people do not believe it is a coincidence. They see it as a cosmic prompt to wake up and see reality in a new and altered light. Steve Pavlina, in his excellent post on this subject, has suggested a small percentage of people will begin to notice the sequence of 11's more often than chance would indicate. That it might be a backdoor virus inserted through an objective belief system. Once noticed, "it begins to dismantle limiting objective beliefs, gradually supplanting them with a more accurate model of reality." He suggests that the more you try to ignore the 11s, the more insistent they become, demanding your attention, making it difficult to do business as usual, until you finally open your mind to new possibilities. He believes it is a specific frequency of awakening, but that there are others, including other recurring number patterns such as 111, 1234, or 444. That "you experience these events as a repeating glitch in the matrix of reality," jolting you into a higher level of awareness.

So what do you think? Are you one of those people who are seeing 11s everywhere? If so, you may want to read Steve's post, and note the date and time of 12/21/2012 UT on your calendar. After all, it could be a cosmic prompt.

An Ordering?

I mentioned yesterday that I have been reading and studying quite a bit lately. I just finished The Intention Experiment. I'm now reading The Four Insights, a book about ancient healers in hiding since the time of the Conquest, now re-emerging to offer wisdom in order to "sustain us during the great changes we are about to face." (In case you don't believe it's possible for a group to be in hiding this long, there was a writer about an ancient civilization of runners recently discovered in Mexico on John Stewart on Tuesday.) On top of these recent books, I've read The Toltec Prophecies, everything written by Eckhart Tolle, and almost everything by Pema Chodron over the last few months. I feel drawn to do this, and I don't really know why. But I feel as though something is happening. Our world is going through a change. Almost as if there is an "ordering" or organization of energy. People's energy, earth's energy, all energy. Something like "the endless passing back and forth of energy between all subatomic particles, leaving scientists to believe that all matter in the universe is connected on the subatomic level through a constant dance of quantum energy exchange." (The Intention Experiment)

I know some of you will think this sounds crazy. But before you wipe me from your blog world, ask yourself - have you been feeling differently lately? Have you had a feeling of being anxious, but without a ready explanation? Have you been drawn to programs like The Philanthropist, a program about doing good deeds, with messages that we are One? Do you feel a need to retreat from anger, violence, negativity, preferring calm discourse? Or perhaps you have thoughts of a world where everyone is equal, and less of a desire for material things. Does something tell you that you need to be more self-sufficient? Grow, can, eat organically? Maybe not eat factory-farmed meat, or not eat meat at all. Or maybe it's just an overall feeling of wanting to be a better person, to think good thoughts, and be grateful for life's blessings.

I know these are generalizations, easily applied to a variety of reasons. You can say they are just because of the economy, or news programs, or a fad. But I don't think so. Every book I have read has something about a great wave of change coming to our world. If you believe only in the Bible - then it's Armageddon. Edgar Cayce talked about it, the ancient civilizations and healers talked about it, every book I have read lately has something about it. It was even mentioned last night on a program about alien encounters! Is it the end of the Mayan calendar - which is 2012? Is it the changes in our weather patterns? Is it a metaphor for a spiritual awakening?

Could that be what we are experiencing? Is there an ordering going on because we may need each other?

It's a puzzle, and we are the pieces. I would love your wise words, opinions and stories. I hope you don't think I'm crazy. But somehow I don't think you do - at least some of you don't, or you wouldn't be reading this right now, I would have been deleted long ago.

Age of Enightenment

Thanks everyone for all of your comments yesterday. They ranged from serious to funny to informative. I learned a few things. Always a good thing for me!

I would have to say, if the world is going to end, then I want to go out more "enlightened" than not. And I know that word evokes images of monks dressed in robes, chanting. Something unattainable for us average peeps. But for me, it is more about learning how to live day to day in a happier, less stressed, less fearful manner. Not an easy feat in today's climate (no pun intended.) So I guess I'm hoping for an "Age of Enlightenment" but I'm preparing for it to be either nothing, or the end, by working on myself. If we only have three or so years to live then I really want to make the most of it. And if I we have longer, wouldn't it make sense to learn how to enjoy it, regardless of the circumstances?

In the meantime, we need to go "green" as much as possible in a BIG way. Everyone, everywhere. We may not be able to turn the tide on global warming, but that doesn't mean we get to bury our heads and do nothing. And who knows, we may actually do some good. The human being is very resourceful and, when threatened with extinction, very motivated. 

As for being happier, less stressed, and less fearful, learning to live in the moment is truly the key. There are plenty of books out there that help you to do this, but it is really going to take a change in each of us to want to do that. To seek out that information, in whatever form, and be grateful for all the really small blessings in our lives. It takes work, and practice, but the end result is life changing, and life affirming, taking the fear out of the future.

Year 2012

The subject of "Year 2012", including a specific date - December 21, 2012 came up on one of my favorite blogs yesterday. The Gold Puppy explored whether or not people believe a cataclysmic event will occur on that date, the resetting of the Mayan calendar. Of course, I had to Wikipedia the date and look at some of the other information on the subject that is on the Internet. I came away with the following:

• Some people believe we will experience Armageddon
• Some people believe we may come in contact with asteroids, or other planets
• Some people believe will will have WWIII
• Some people believe we will experience massive climate changes, similar to the Ice Age
• Some people believe we will enter an Enlightened Age
• Some people believe we will have changes in our DNA

The list goes on and on. So my question to you is - have you heard of this date, and if so, what do you believe?
