Awards, Tags, and New Friends

I received a lovely award from star-forever-young, a very talented writer and storyteller, and would like to pass it on to all of the writers I think are so wonderful. Unfortunately, I think all of the blogs that I follow are wonderful, so feel free to take it, knowing I think you are terrific. Feel free to pass this award on to eight other bloggy friends, if you choose.

Then Expat From Hell, an excellent writer, using stories to discuss life's new rules, tagged me with the following:
  1. Tag and link back to the person who tagged you.
  2. List six (un)important things that make you happy.
  3. Tag six bloggers and let them know they're "it".
Only he added his own spin, and that was to tag only new bloggers. We both feel this blogging community to be one of inclusion, and friendship. What better way than to invite new bloggers into it?  So for my six things:
  1. A good cup of coffee in the morning - but it must be made a certain way, and delivered from my husband. Spoiled, I know, but it just doesn't taste the same when I make it.
  2. Watching the professional dancers on "Dancing With The Stars". In another life, I would be them.
  3. Seeing my grandson's face light up when he sees me.
  4. Rain
  5. Watching the stream from my window.
  6. Listening to Nora Jones.
So six new bloggers, I would like to invite you into our strangest community in the blogosphere, as explained by Expat:
  1. A View From The Fairway - Bogey is new to the blogging world, and proves to have some really great things to say.
  2. nik's backyard - New to the blogging world, Nikina has a unique perspective on where she lives and what she does.
  3. Devils Workshop - A new blog complete with an engineering student from India.
  4. Each Day Is A Present - This blog looks like a friendly one.
  5. asweetcakes' photograph - A new blogger with a perspective from Nigeria.
  6. Susie Said I Should - A new blogger from Georgia.
Welcome, and have fun with this. There is no pressure to participate, only if you would care to. But looking for six more new bloggers could be fun...

P.S. I just visited Empty Nest Evolution and noticed this wonderful writer and photographer also tagged me for this one! Thanks, California Girl.

LOVE IT! How did you find the six bloggers? I am only curious - always on the lookout to add to the "stew" of bloggers! Great work! Why am I surprised?

How FUN! Great idea Expat! :)

Expat - I have had some new ones post on my blog - since I didn't know them, I thought it okay to use them. Otherwise - I'm not sure how to find them!

Expat - Whoops, I meant they comment on my blog, not post.

I think that's a great idea, to make our community bigger and encourage new bloggers to keep it up! Wonderful! And congrats on the award!

Congrats on your awards, much deserved. I like the idea of encouraging new bloggers, it's a great community. And hey, Nora Jones - great choice!

THanks for adding me! I do really enjoy your blog and have already learned from you. I am very new at this.

My sister just told me that she thought that some of what I wrote was too personal.

I am still exploring and finding my way. My main focus is using the creative process, for me it is art, music and writing to deepen my experience of life and joy. I want to inspire others and find community on line as well.

Six things?
1. Watching the tree outside my window burst into bloom, a miracle.
2. Looking at my children's amazing faces. I tell my son I need to see his "shiny face" every morning.
3. Chopping carrots, red peppers, taking in the colors, aroma, the physical sensations!
4. Being in the midst of a musical experience-the amazing sharing that goes beyond words.
5. Learning a new person's story.
6. Finding out that that new person is not so different from me even though I might have at first thought so.

Thanks again!

Hi! I think this is a brilliant idea. Am completely new to the word of blogging - just 5 posts old in fact! Its great to see new bloggers being encouraged!

Thanks for the info. Didn't totally understand but I am sure when I have a little more time I will figure it out.

what a fun idea! it's nice to introduce us this way to some interesting new blogs we can browse through! It's hard finding new ones one might be interested in, the "Coffee SHop" is mostly filled with people trying to get you to "increase your views" or "make money" via blogger, and when you click on "next blog" on the top of your blog... well you can go on a really random journey and most of the time end up in pages where you can't understand a word (and sometimes not even the alphabet). I can be fun but not the most effective way to be introduced to new blogs... :p

LOL-thanks for tagging me with the other new bloggers. It forced me to learn to add hyperlinks. It took me three tries to get them right, but I think they work now! I feel even more like a "real" blogger now!

Hi! Thanks for checking out my blog.

I'm also a happily married empty nester, over 50, who likes Norah Jones.
I'm envious of your little grandson. My kids are just not ready for that yet!

Thanx for the info. I decided to come back here to tell u about my 6 things...and when I have some people visiting my blog one day, I will do this again and tag someone. I really just started blogging here a couple of days ago and don't even have 6 people to tag yet...hehe.
So here are my 6 things that make me happy.
1. Gardening is my number one :) I can spent hours, playing in the dirt and forget everything around me.
2. Long walks through the woods. I love the peaceful silence and sounds of nature, the smell and the colours.
3. Living in the country of my dreams. I moved from Germany to Canada a little over a year ago after I had dreamt about it for probably 20 years. Every morning I wake up happy to be here :)
4. Icecream makes me happy !!
5. My family. Since the distance between us is so huge every phonecall, e.mail or letter makes me very happy
6. Love. I just recently met someone and am madly in love which makes me more than happy :)

Ok I hope I didn't spoil the fun by not blogging this :) thanx again for tagging me :)
