David & The Law of One

Here is an odd synchronicity.

Just as I was struggling with something in my personal life that has to do with forgiveness, I logged onto David Wilcock's website - Divine Cosmos. It just so happens I am in the middle of reading his new book The Source Field Investigations. But I am also in the middle of reading book one of The Law of One.

David just posted a 20-minute video pertaining to The Law of One, which was written in 1984. What are the odds?

Anyway, he talks about personal spirituality, divination through Tarot Cards, and the ultimate responsibility of humans on earth at this time - which is?

Forgiveness.

This supposedly frees us from the wheel of karma and reincarnation, by letting go of the guilt of the past, along with the fear of the future.

Our old traumas, usually early childhood traumas, are the hardest to work through, but give us the best chance of freedom from repetition. Once you have made a commitment to forgive the people who may have hurt you, even inadvertently, you can then remind yourself that you have already forgiven that person when a negative thought or emotion comes along to replay your hurt/anger/resentment, etc.

Negativity bias is when the brain automatically returns to a negative thought five times more often then a positive one. The only way to change that thought is to replace it with positive thoughts. In the case of forgiveness one can say - sorry - can't go there - I've already forgiven that person and myself and anyone else involved - time to move on.

I guess I was meant to hear this information tonight - just after a long-winded rant today on the very person I need to forgive.

You never know where the information you need might come from. I'm not sure that everything David talks about on his website is part of my own personal cosmology - but taking the information you need, when you need it, is part of trusting the Creator. Whether is is from a writer/website or a billboard on the side of the road - when you are open to synchronicity, you find magic.

Here is his video - maybe you were meant to drop by my blog for a reason...

Anthony Synchro

It seems a woman was attacked by another woman and run off the road, causing her vehicle to roll and almost killing her. The woman that was attacked looks like Casey Anthony, the woman released after being found innocent in the high-profile death of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee.

The other driver was arrested, and was thought to be on drugs when she stated she was trying to "save the children."

Now here is the synchro - not only does this woman resemble Casey Anthony enough to be attacked - she also has a daughter named Caylee!

Turbine Synchronicity

I had one of those moments this week where an old friend's name popped into my head. I knew I needed to call her before I forgot about it, and before I knew it - another year would go by. We had a great conversation, she said her husband had wanted to sell his business and retire, but by some weird circumstance a medium told him to expand it instead of selling it. I got the impression he did that - and maybe now was involved with something she mentioned as being "hot" once people knew about it - a small geothermal turbine that would heat individual homes. At the time I thought that was a great idea... I should mention it to my husband.

So today my husband asked if I had seen the president's plane land (we have a view of the city and landing planes.) Whaaat? Air Force One landed, and I missed it? Yes, he said - he heard that he was here to visit some obscure little company manufacturing some kind of small turbines.

So you tell me - was the President of the United States stopping by our small city to visit with the manufacturer of the same small turbine that my friend had mentioned?

On the other hand - they may not be related at all... What do you think? Synchronicity or just plain coincidence?

Addendum: I wrote this last week and I'm just now posting it - the President was here last week.

Pay Attention

I have had some very interesting synchronicities lately, and I read somewhere that our thoughts are being manifested much more quickly. It has something to do with the magnetic field around the earth. Anyway, my husband I were discussing the fact that I might be a touch too dependent on my half tab of Ambien for sleep. Right after the conversation I researched and wrote the Monsanto post, and was absolutely floored when the last item in the list of Monsanto products to avoid was.... Ambien! Really? My sleep aid is manufactured by a company that makes Roundup and genetically engineered food?

Next up, I have been trying to cut down on sugar, which seems to be in more products than we realize. Yesterday I am in the dentist chair having my teeth cleaned, my mouth is full of instruments when the hygienist starts talking about her water purifier that makes the water alkaline. Alkaline water is supposed to balance the pH in the body, especially the sugars. She goes on to say people who eat too much sugar are at higher risk of cancer, because the cancer cells literally feed off the sugar. Wow. My last post on water, especially structured water, and my desire to cut down on sugar all in two or three sentences from my hygienist.

She highly touted her water purifier, by the way. She feels she has much more energy, and a sense of well being that she didn't have before. I will have to do some research on it, and let you know what I find.

So this is just two things I am personally working on. What are you working on? Have you noticed the Universe speaking to you? Pay attention, you just might be surprised.

Travel Synchronicity

Hi everyone - it's good to be back. I'm looking forward to catching up. I was on a trip that didn't involve much fun, even though it was to a beautiful location.

Trish told me to watch for synchronicities while traveling, and sure enough I had a couple - involving actresses, of all things.

The night before leaving, I downloaded three movies for the long flights. Chloe, Date Night, and When In Rome.

The first movie I watched was Chloe, with Amanda Seyfried. It was a dark thriller, and had some serious sex scenes, which I had no idea would be part of the plot. As I was watching it, (and hoping the man next to me would remain sleeping, so as to not think me a perv,) I looked up and the same actress was in the movie Letters to Juliet being shown as the in-flight movie. In that movie she appeared to be playing a more demure role. Weird to watch her in a very dark role, only to look up and see her play what appeared to be a very sweet role. Even my husband was amused, and extremely curious about my movie, I might add...

On the way home, I decided to watch Date Night with Tina Fey. Just as I plugged into the movie, I looked up and the in-flight film was with Tina Fey in 30-Rock! So then I noticed in the movie I was watching one of the roles was played by the lead in a Netflix series I had in my bag, of which I had been catching up over the last week, and planned on watching the final episode after Date Night.

There are thousands of actresses - what are the odds?

7 Secrets of Synchronicity

I've finished 7 Secrets, and as is my policy to pass on information that could be useful to some of you, here is my review:

As some of you may know, I met the MacGregors while they were doing the research for this book. They were just starting their blog, and had put a Goggle Alert for the word "synchronicity." Up popped my blog with this post. We later met for lunch while we were all in the Columbia River Gorge area. They were in Hood River on vacation, and we were in Portland visiting our children. So I have been looking forward to the outcome of their hard work for some time.

I was not disappointed. It is well-researched and well-written. Using anecdotal stories, many from bloggers, the book helps you to realize how the world is so much more than we ever believed it to be. That blogging in itself, may be synchronicity at work in a very powerful way. How often have you found information from blogs that you may have been seeking, or needing and didn't realize it, until you read it on a blog?

The seven secrets of synchronicity, as explained in this book, breaks down the components of synchronicity. Explaining what it is, how it works, how to recognize it in your own life, and more importantly, how to have more of it! Understanding what it is enables the individual to live on a deeper level, more in tuned to their environment, other people, and other living creatures. This book shows us how to recognize the incredible interconnectedness we all share, and how to respect it.

I also enjoyed the "Divining Synchronicity" section of the book. I have always been very curious about I Ching and Tarot cards, but didn't really understand how they work, and how they can be a useful tool in everyday life. Now that I'm past my grandmother's voice telling me all things divining are the devil's work, I can follow my instincts regarding energy, consciousness, and connection. So I have ordered a brand new set of Tarot cards. I'll keep you updated on my new adventure.

I believe the human being is going through an evolution. I think that these ways of "knowing" will someday be the norm and what we feel to be cutting edge will one day be archaic. But for now, this book will appeal to those who feel as I do - the world is changing and so are we. It's time to embrace the  paradigms of the future.

A Nudge From Beyond

In Trish and Rob's book 7 Secrets of Synchronicity they talk about the interconnectedness of all beings. How sometimes we are nudged in directions that we don't always understand when it is happening.

Last week I was unboxing and going through some really old stuff that has been stored in a trunk that my brother made for me. In my exuberance to rid myself of "stuff," I came across a box that belonged to my mother. I'm not sure when it was given to me, but I think it was when my grandmother died about ten years ago. I was busy with children and work at the time and didn't go through the box, which had  Joyce's Correspondence, on the top. My mother died when I was six years old.

When I opened the box there was a picture of my aunt, my mother's sister, on the top. She was about five years old in the picture. I immediately felt guilty for not visiting her in way too long. My aunt is completely disabled from diabetes, having one leg amputated and completely bedridden. We talk occasionally on the phone and I send her money and other things that she needs when I can. But I have avoided visiting her because it is just painful and unpleasant. I know, selfish of me. But she lives in California and we have been living in Oregon and Minnesota, so visiting has been easy to avoid. I might add that she lives with her son and his family, so she is surrounded by people she loves, she is not alone.

But that doesn't excuse me. I know that.

Just as I was leaving for Sacramento (where she lives) I get a call from my brother. He says our aunt is in the hospital and may not make it. Visiting her is now unavoidable, as I am heading in that direction for the 4th of July at my brother's house.

All I can say is thank you to the nudges I was given, including the picture in the box of my mother's correspondence. She was awake and feeling well enough that she was heading home that day. My aunt was so happy to see me, and my brother, that it brought tears to my eyes. She kept saying how much she loved us.

I don't know how much longer she has, probably not long. She has congestive heart failure, diabetes, and may lose her other leg. For a woman that is only 61 years old, she is not in good shape. But for me it was a lesson learned. I'll make a point of trying to see her every few months. It was not as bad as I had feared, and the good that came of it far outweighed the bad. My mother and grandmother would want me to take care of her in any way that I can. So that is what I will do.

I've hidden money in her bag, to dole out to her grandchildren. I've ordered new hospital gowns for her, and sent her a bottle of her favorite perfume - Poison by Christian Dior.

But more importantly, I'll gift her with a visit from someone who loves her.

The Coffee Table

It has taken me a month to get all my boxes put away after our move. Part of the problem is a husband who is working seven days a week and having to travel for his job over the last month. But things are settling down and there are finally pictures on the wall. But a very funny thing happened the other day, so I thought I would share. You may remember my post on how we came to this particular house, well it gets better:

I decided last week to hire some people to help us move the furniture from one bedroom to another. A task that was too much for my husband and myself. The doorbell rang and the man at the door looked perplexed. He asked me if the people who lived here before gave me their name. I said no. I had found them myself in the phonebook. He laughed and said they had just moved the previous people out of this house a few weeks ago. They knew the house well! Not only that, but it seems we have the exact same coffee table! What are the odds of that? They also had two other pieces that matched my coffee table, which we had not bought - but it was the exact same piece. It is large, with glass and leather around the edges. I guess I hadn't noticed it when we did a quick walk-through. I had noticed the piece that they had used to hold a television, which was the sofa table that matched my coffee table. Each room had window treatments that exactly matched the furniture I would put in that particular room - which I hadn't noticed when we decided to take this house.

It seems that when you open yourself up to synchronicity, through intention, all sorts of funny things can happen.

Synchronicity and Band-Aids

My husband returned from a business trip and said he had experienced a synchronicity. (I love it when he talks like that.) Anyway, it seems he had been jogging while away when he evidently fell down, scraping his leg. He also mentioned all the friendly, pretty, people on the jogging trail. I'm sure that didn't have anything to do with the fall...

The synchronicity involved a band aid. It seems when he returned to the hotel room his leg was bleeding enough to need a big band aid. The hotel gift shop only had small ones. Then he looked in his dop kit and found one very large band aid, perfect for the wound, and for keeping his suit from becoming soiled during the day. He had no idea where the band aid had come from, and he knew he had not put it in his bag.

The funny thing is I remember putting it in his shaving kit. I had been unpacking from our recent move, and for some reason had a large, lone, band aid in my hand. Not knowing what to do with it at that moment, I stuck it in his shaving kit. I have no idea why I did that. I guess it just seemed opportune at the time.

Anyway, he's decided to buy some more big band aids to carry in his kit, just in case!

Paying Attention

So many of us ask for answers to our questions, but how often do we listen for the answers?

My younger daughter has been struggling with what she wants to do for post-graduate studies. She is leaning toward nursing school, and has started the process to begin the pre-requisites to apply. But she isn't totally sure that she doesn't want to go into Naturopathic Medicine, of which there is a really good school in Portland. It is exactly like entering medical school, in terms of curriculum and cost. Not a decision to make unless one is fully engaged.

Yesterday she was buying some veggies from a fruit and vegetable stand when the man behind the counter said he was a clairvoyant/psychic and was picking up on her "frequencies." He said he saw her doing something with healing, children, and plants. He saw plant starts, but didn't know what kind. He also said her father's father was around her.

Now for someone to say these things out of the blue is odd, but what is even more odd is that her grandfather passed away a year ago and was a doctor who, while being an Internist, believed in preventative care to the extreme. This daughter is very interested in plants and sustainable gardening, asking to attend the Master Gardner program as a recent graduation gift. She took this as a possible answer to her question - nursing school or naturopathic medicine.

My point is that we often ask questions to difficult questions, but don't always pay attention when the answers come our way. We expect them to come verbally, or in some way definitive. I think we need to pay attention to subtle cues and gentle reminders that often come to us in obscure ways. Whether or not you believe this man to be a psychic, he gave her information that she needed. Her desire to heal and her love of plants can be combined in a naturopathic way, which is something I see for the future as more and more people become aware of the inherent risks of a pharma-based medical system.

Which makes me wonder how many of my own questions could be answered if only I were paying attention?

Precognition, Synchronicity, or Coincidence?

We've had a couple of instances in the last couple of days that were unusual and involved dreams. I thought I would pass them along and see what you think.

Incident No. 1: Snowmobiles
My husband and I driving along the other day, when we came to a sign offering snow mobile treks. For some reason, and I still do not have any idea why, since I really have never cared much for snowmobiling, I said we could always rent a snowmobile and take a tour of the mountains. My husband said he had a dream the night before about when he almost died on a snowmobile in Montana when he was a young boy. He had never talked about this incident in the 30 years we've been married. Evidently he was with a man, along with two others and an additional snowmobile, who took a route that was rarely used by anyone in the winter. The snowmobiles both quit operating. Now this is Montana, where the temps dip way below zero most winter nights. They couldn't walk back to town - too far in deep snow. The sun was starting to set and there was no way to call anyone (before cell phones.) They were getting colder and colder by the second while the men tried to get the snowmobiles running again. Luckily, some other snowmobilers came along and were riding single. They piled everyone on and made it back to town. My husband dislikes snowmobiling to this day. Their lives were in serious danger, and he knew it. But we had never discussed it until I made the comment on the sign we'd passed and he recalled his dream from the night before.

Incident No. 2: Whale Sharks
My daughter has been busy planning a trip to Costa Rica in May. She dreamt that she was in the ocean and was horrified to see a huge whale shark that appeared to be running from a monster of some sort. But what had horrified her was the size of the whale shark. She is not a person that is at ease in the ocean in the first place, and large fish scare the stuffing out of her. So the next day she and her husband are looking for places to stay that will allow for her husband to surf. On one side is the Caribbean, and the other side of the country is the Pacific. She is reading about the Caribbean side when it notes that one of the benefits is that it is a breeding ground for whale sharks and there is opportunity to view them in their natural habitat! (Whale sharks are slow moving, filter feeding sharks.)

So are these instances just coincidences? Are they synchronicities that make a point? Or are they instances of precognition? (Precognition is the direct knowledge or perception of the future, obtained through extrasensory means. Usually the majority of precognitive events happen with 24-48 hours of the future event.)

New Synchronicity Wesbsite

Trish & Rob MacGregor started a new website for their soon-to-be published book "Seven Secrets of Synchronicity." I've spent some time clicking around on the site and found it to be very interesting and informative. If you are puzzled about what synchronicity is all about, or you have a story to share with them, by all means - pay this site a visit.

I had the good fortune to meet the MacGregors while they vacationed in Hood River, Oregon, and we were visiting family in Portland. Since they live on the other side of the country - it was synchronicity that brought us together for lunch. They had placed a "Google alert" for "synchronicity" while working on their book, (yes, you can have Google work for you), and my blog post just happened to come up. Again, synchronicity. They were just the people I needed to meet at that time of my life. Trust me, they are very knowledgeable.

This has happened more than once. Issues that I may be working on just happen to come up in another person's blog post. Sidebars will show websites or other blogs that turn out to be just what I'm looking for. I've read a ton of books that inspire and facilitate my writing because someone recommended them to me in their comments, or better yet, in comments to another person. Some bloggers have become email friends, and we exchange thoughts on a variety of subjects. People with lives so different from mine, so far away from me, but sharing common interests. They often show up encouraging, or offering advice, just when I need it the most. The more that I'm aware of synchronicity in my life, the more alive I feel.

What about you - have you experienced synchronicity lately?

Hawthorne Street Fair

My daughter and her husband live just a few blocks from Hawthorne, the southeast part of Portland. It's a lively street, with shops ranging from vintage clothes to ones that sell bizarre jewelry and red-feather wings for when you need that special touch. It has that hipster feel, but also attracts people like myself and every other myriad group. Lots of bicycles and families on this day. We came home with new "shopper" type bags for the girls, and earrings for my very cool son-in-law that has a reputation to upkeep as a snowboard rep. All in all a great day, finished off with shots of tequila at the next door neighbors, and pot-lock dinner at our house.

It's fun to visit Portland, and it's never boring! But I'm heading back to the mountains tomorrow. I will look forward to my own internet connection, as the one here has been booting me off all day. I have tried to post this since this morning.

Speaking of which, have you ever wondered what is going on when you try to post something and it refuses to get accomplished? Is there a deeper message there? Could we look at it from a different perspective - maybe including synchronicity, and ask ourselves if there isn't something more at work? Maybe this post or message needs to be changed, deleted, or is not meant to be posted at all.

Has that ever happened to you?

Being Open

I know that as soon as I start seeking to open my heart and mind, to move forward in spirit, I will draw to me the teachers and information that I need. It has happened time and again. Lately I have read things coming from fellow bloggers that have been life changing for me. One example - a reader of another blog commented that her father told her, upon graduating law school, that having the ability to evoke emotion in writing or in the courtroom, was a gift. Now for the hundreds, possible thousands of readers of that comment it was interesting, but not necessarily meaningful. But it knocked my socks off! Why? Because I had always thought my writing to be too emotional. It never occurred to me it was a gift. It was always something I tried to suppress. I had my husband critique and proof-read one of my first papers in college. I'd worked hard on it and was fairly proud, but insecure. He said it sounded like a Hallmark Card. He was not intending to be hurtful, or mean. He was trying to let me know that my writing needed to step up a notch. He was right. Most of my college papers required a different type of writing.

But what stuck, and I know it happens to everyone, is that my writing is too emotional and therefore not good. My husband is in business, and his writing is geared toward a different audience. The part he was right about, was that you cannot always write to evoke emotion, some things need to be precise.

But what I needed to hear was that it is okay, in certain forums, to write from the heart. And that's where that comment, made for someone else entirely, was meant for me. I needed to hear that. Because that is where I am most comfortable writing.

So, what I am trying to say, when we open ourselves to new thinking, new ideas, new challenges, stay open to your "teachers". They show up in very obscure places, and odd times. It is being open to them when they show you the way that is important. And from a personal point of view, this bloggyworld is just full of teachers for me. Thanks to every one of you!
