Mysterious Tweet

Somewhere very near the west side of our home is a mysterious tweeting. It sounds like a bird, but I guess could be some other kind of animal. It sounds like it is in our venting. But how could a bird get in our venting? It couldn't be in the fireplace, because it was torn out and a new gas-burning fireplace has been burning merrily for many nights now. But over the last couple of days my husband and I have been hearing what appears to be a bird singing. I have looked outside in the trees but there are no birds in sight. It's snowing and cold. Most birds won't be back until spring. Could a bird have been caught somehow during the construction? But wouldn't we have heard it before now? It has been a couple of weeks since the last construction workers have been here. The fireplace has a screen over the flume - my husband noticed it was in place when he was raking leaves off the roof the other day. So, what the heck? How can a bird be singing in the bowels of my house??

Most likely a little varmit..they sound exactly like a bird, the dogs corner them often here. The construction probably tore up its' home. Then it might be the wind blowing something causing the slightest scratching sound.(I have a small rosebush up against my window..trips me out~!)

I must say I love the picture of the little bird you've imagined it to be. A bird free to come and go as she pleases who has a secret nest decorated with white silk and moonbeams :-)

I know, Susan! I hate the thought he could be trapped! My husband and myself do not kill spiders - they are removed from the house to live outside. We surely want a little bird to safe. Your nest sounds just perfect.

Hmmm that is a mystery, and it might be the wind or something totally explainable. I find it hard to believe a bird got trapped there.

Ohh I hope you have been able to discover where it's coming from. It could be a good omenyou know; that you have provided a home from the winter for a sweet little creature and this is it's way of paying you back. I don't think a trapped bird would feel much like singing, right?
