Off The Grid

Fascinated by the book I'm reading, The Traveler by John Twelve Hawks, I became even more fascinated to learn he lives "off the grid."

In our publicity saturated world, to find an author who prefers to write without anyone knowing much about him, including his real name or where he lives, is compelling to say the least. Especially considering the Big Brother content of his novels.

Has anyone read the Fourth Realm trilogy? (I think there is a movie in the works.) I'm only on page 39 of the first book, and have put his next two books on my shopping list.

Read half of first book. For some reason, I put it down, but don't recall why. Will now have to revisit this book! Thanks for the reminder.

This does sound interesting. I just finished "The Millennium Trilogy" by Steig Larssen. I'll have to check out this one.

I would love to live off the grid, or at least as much as possible. I think there are a lot of people who do, not authors though.

Living off the grid is grand, if you can afford the initial costs, and can find the right kind of place.

Haven't read the book you're suggesting, but have seen the movie "What the Bleep to We Know" (though I didn't spell the title right). Fascinating movie; still thinking about it, and the implications.

Fascinating that he is able to live "off the grid" and still produce a book in today's world...
