Madmen & Headboards

I've been trying to explain to someone recently about the headboard I would like to have for my bed. This is the headboard! Doesn't it look like something you could lean against and read a good book? Does anyone else remember these headboards from the 60's? Tuck & Roll come to mind?

Telling people I wanted Don & Betty's headboard from Madmen wasn't cutting it. Now I have a picture. Ha.

Season four begins July 25th. :-)

i love that headboard! Unfortunately I could not have that, because my husband sleeps with one hand on the headboard and always leaves marks on it, from his hand, no matter how clean his hand is, there is a mark there. So I am thinking I couldnt clean that headboard easily....
But its pretty!

That IS a great headboard- especially for reading books in bed! I can never get my pillows propped quite right. PLUS it looks very glamorous.

What a beautiful headboard. I don't see too many of these around, but it's a nice change, and gives the bedroom a very elegant look.

I can't wait for the season to start, I love that show. Hopefully Betty will come to her senses before she marries that man...

The headboard is quite lovely but a little cumbersome looking to me. I prop pillows to sit up in bed and read, and I'm doing right this minute.

I had a headboard like that when I was a kid. It was white vinyl, though, not the glamorous-looking fabric in your picture.

I keep hearing about this show and how addictive it is. I just don't watch TV, but maybe I'll queue the first season on Netflix. The headboard, and the woman on it, are gorgeous.

Marvellous headboard — so attractive and so functional at the same time. Now, if we just knew where to get you one, you'd we all set.

headboards are still in or possibly back in here in the UK.

Hope you are feeling better - you didn't send the bug over to me by any chance, did you? My throat is very sore and I am dosing myself up to ward off worse. But no doubt I'll succumb. I hate summer bugs, they make me feel worse than any winter bug.

Just don't get icecream or chocolate on it, hell to get off!

The headboard looks more comfortable than the bed! haha

Just read a few of your latest posts and really enjoyed what I read. I find some things that you say and believe to be true for me. I think we live within and hour or two of each other. I live in the Foothills above Sacramento. Hope you are feeling better. Those bugs are nasty! How DO they get in, anyway!!!

Another Mad Men fan here, but the headboard wasn't very lucky for Don and Betty was it?
It does look pretty cushy....

I think that Kathy G and I had the same headboard. It's exactly what I was going to comment. :)

Oh I so remember those. My aunt (4 years older than myself) had a purple one, her fav color. We were married 33 years before I even got a headboard (now 34 years).

"Tuck and Roll." OMG! Yes. I remember cruising in some pretty hot cars in high school that had tuck and roll. It was all the rage.

I don't know how I missed this post - but we LOVE Madmen. I remember those times (vaguely, I was born in 1958).. but I do remember my parents having "highballs" and everyone SMOKED... and Kennedy's assassination and MLK and well, just all of it.

I have been shopping for a new bed for over a year now. I think I finally decided on a sleigh bed. I think it will go well (eventually) in our new home.
