On a lighter note...

The weather is absolutely beautiful here in the mountains. The temperatures are in the high 70's and we have had perfectly clear blue skies. It's Street Vibrations in Reno so the area is full of the sound of gravelly pipes. My husband is off, as we speak, to check out the Harley dealership (a meeting spot) to ogle bikes and talk motorcycles. My brother is on his way, and my cousins are joining the pack. Friends are coming to spend the night Saturday and I am busy planning menus. Life is good.

Lucy on the other hand is enjoying some "end of summer" swims:

She comes out clean and refreshed:

No baths during the summer. The lake takes care of that:

How is your weekend looking?

You are making me SO homesick! I am determined to swim in Tahoe next summer. My cousins inherited the cabin at Tahoma after the deaths of my aunt and I'm not sure how they are dealing with schedules, etc. They live in CA and I'm sure use it frequently, and also rent it out to friends. But I'm going to write them and ask to be placed on the rental schedule for next year.

Lucy is one lucky dog. Bonbon would go crazy there!

Weekend weather here expected to be great. I've had lots of energy for yardwork, and my husband is going to the OSU football game with his dad this weekend so I have time to myself.

Hi Nancy! I wish my boys loved the water like Lucy does! She is so adorable in the water, I love seeing happy doggies!!! Enjoy your weekend! I discovered yet another scarecrow contest going on at an apple orchard about half an hour away, so I'll be doing that on Sunday! Picking apples too, I can't wait! :)

Lydia - Okay, now I'm homesick for Oregon! :-) You will have to let me know if you get here next summer - we can have lunch!

Rain - Can't wait to see your next scarecrow!

Gypsy - Hope you have a great weekend.

What a lucky dog. Is the water warm enough to swim?

We're expecting weather much like yours, crisp air, blue skies, but about 10 degrees cooler here on the east coast. The meteorologist said tomorrow should one of the year's 10 best. The weekend here for me? Definitely a country harvest fair!

Here in the PNW the weather is supposed to be as gorgeous as it was all day today. I spent the day in the mountains, my usual Thursday activity, and posted pictures on my blog. Lake Tahoe is incredibly beautiful too, and it looks to be a very nice weekend across much of the country.

lakeviewer - It's cold. You and I would certainly notice it, but Lucy doesn't seem to mind.

Joanne - Wow - a Country Harvest Fair? Love it.

Kathy - I'll bet it's nice in your neck of the woods.

DJ - We need to enjoy it while we can!

Beautiful photos, Nancy. That dog looks pretty pleased with herself. Our weather has been lovely so far. I'm hanging onto the last of summer sunshine.

beautiful photos, beautiful scenery.

I miss the real Fall weather, FL doesn't have much of that. We are experiencing lots of sun showers and rainbows.

Have fun.

My weekend? I will be doing a photo shoot for a wedding and training for Fall running.

Oh, my. The water is so clear. Beautiful. We don't have that at our lake.

And I think your husband and mine could get along fine. Harley United.

The lake does look so very beautiful.

And all those bikes sounds like so much fun.

Seeing Lucy in the water reminded me of my old labradors, we couldn't keep them out of water, especially on hot days. It sure looks good in your part of the world.

What a beautiful part of the world you live in! Here in the south of France it's still very warm and people are still swimming in the sea, but for me that's it for the summer. What a nice life for a Lab....

A swimming dog. Perfect weather. Weekend guests. Sounds like life is good out your way!

I am having dinner tonight with a couple just in (today) from Scotland. Celebrating her 50th! So I too am busy planning menus.

Have a great weekend!

It's finally raining here which is fantastic since I feel like being a slug. I'm hoping the rain will usher in the fall temperatures. It's rather sad to watch the leaves change colors while I sweat through my tank top. Actually, the way things have been here, I'd love to take a swim with Lucy. It'd be refreshing.
