Where did you go?

So at least two of my blogging friends have disappeared. Rain - where did you go? Reggie Girl - where did you go? It's so strange how we get attached to people we have never met. When they disappear we get worried, and then we just miss them. Hope both of you are okay, and are just taking a break. I have to admit, blogging does take up some time. Someone asked the other day how I can keep up with so many blogs, and the answer is unfortunately I can't read all the ones I want to every day, but try to catch up at least a few times a week. The ones on the sidebar is just a fraction of the ones I follow. I can't help it - there is just so many good writers out there. You people are interesting!

What about you? Are you new at blogging and just building your blog list or have you been at it awhile and find yourself with not enough time to read all that you would like to?

Yes i miss Reggie too. :(
I have too many to love, but sort of rotate as much as possible. Thanks for your support Nancy, means a lot to me.xx♥

Yes, it is difficult at times to juggle everything.
I find it hard to keep up with all my favourite bloggers but I do try my best whenever I have the time.
You are the first one to drop in a comment for my posts.
Thanks for making time.

Love

I have to laugh...with 829 followers how do you know which one has disappeared?

Stopping by to give a little blog ♥

There must be more than one Rain out there because I've seen comments by that name at really varying blogs, but different-looking avatar photos. You know the old saying: when it Rains it pours.
(sorry, I just couldn't help myself!)

Hi, am impressed you managed to keep in touch and note who has not been in touch for a while with so many followers. Am finding it difficult to catch up with technology making things fast but I do try. I am impressed with your ability to keep tabs of so much.
Enjoying your posts too. :)

During the summer many people just have less time to read blogs, especially moms with kids at home or even grandmoms who help watch kids during the summer when parents are working. I have a less time because my kids are home and my life is less structured as a rule and sometimes I dont make it to the computer except to check emails.

I only have a handful of readers, (that followers list lies, less than ten people actually read me on a reg. basis.) This is probably because I occasionally am controversial. Or because I have a boring suburban life. LOL

I do find myself torn sometimes, blogging does take up a fair slice of the day with me (more than is healthy sometimes). This is my second blog, I closed my first one down because it had simply taken over, and I gave myself some new ground rules since opening this one.

I'd found myself visiting sites out of obligation rather than for pleasure, it's easy to do. We are all mostly polite and don't wish to offend by not returning visits. But my list grew ridiculously long (often over a hundred comments per post to get round) and simply got too much. It wasn't fun anymore.

I only took those readers I had things in common with to this site, and I limit myself now to only returning visits, I don't actively "seek" out new readers. It's worked well, I can enjoy blogging without the guilt or pressure to keep up all the time. I guess it is all a matter of balance, isn't it?

Although it was a huge wrench at the time, I've never regretted the decision to start all over again in blogland. And yes, some of the the friendships I've made in here I value beyond words.

Honestly, I haven't been blogging much myself after the death of my mare, Beauty. I just couldn't. I had nothing to say. I didn't take any photos for weeks. I'm just now getting back to reality. I have 8 blogs myself and my favorites that I visit every morning.

One of the people I follow dissappeared too and it's strange not to know what's up after you feel like you know what someone does from day to day. There was one photo of NYC blog I was just getting into and he said goodbye...so sad. I have to force myself away from the blog world. I get so caught up in reading everything and then 2 hours have gone by and I have stuff to do!

You are right..blogging does take up time and it also takes willpower to stay committed to keeping them up. I have so many friends that will start them and loose interest in them when they find out how much work they are. You have to really have a "desire" to blog.

I try not to get attatched to many of them. I know I would never have time to read them all. I just have my few favorites that I keep up with.

Your support means a lot to me too. I now feel very special now that I know I am one of your readees! I find that Google Reader makes it really easy to keep on top of quite a few blogs (although I look at some lists and my mind is boggled at how they keep up).

When I first get up (like right now) to start my day I read the news online on my laptop while drinking my tea and my husband sleeps on beside me.

Now that I am part of the blogosphere, I read all of you first, and sometimes an hour goes by and I still haven't gotten to the papers.

You are important to me, and your life is now part of mine. I understand missing someone. I would sure miss you!

A while back one of the blogs I follow just disappeared. I tried checking with other people on her blog list to see if they knew anything, but no one did. I'd only been reading this blog for a short while, but I'd found it really interesting; it was sad to see it go.

There is definitely NOT enough time to read everything I'd like too!

The last few weeks have been super crazy! While I'm still up nights reading all of the blogs that I follow, I am ashamed to say I've let my writing go by the wayside. Hopefully things slow down some soon, but I'm enjoying keeping up with everyone!

Interesting. Where did those blogging friends go?

I usually only blog on running sites, except yours. You always bring a spritual/emotional insite to my life and I need that balance!!

Maybe we all just need different things for different times of our lives...reeping and sowing.

We're in a new campground where the wireless sucks so my computer time is severely limited - I have to share the large computer with hubby. It's in the "living room" in our trailer right next to the TV, which is constantly on. Hard to concentrate, AND we have to share! I'm used to moving around with the lap top to quiet areas in the trailer and spend hours on the computer. (The large computer has an air card so we can always get on line.) So this situation has severely put a crimp in my blogging style - both reading and writing!

Blogging can be overwhelming and time consuming to keep up, actively, with "friends".
I try to keep a balance, but as of late, the outdoor training is winning. I am doing a marathon in October.
I do read the ones I follow, but have slacked in commenting. Balance will be restored in the fall...

Hi Nancy!!! I'm still here!!! You're so sweet for asking about me. I thought I'd written you a comment a few days back saying that I was taking a break from blogging? I had some problems, so I'm starting fresh! I'm in the midst of creating a new one, and will let you know when it's up!!! You can't get rid of me that easily my friend, lol!

Rain - Whew! Glad you're okay! I look forward to your new blog whenever you feel like doing one. I know you are busy, and summer is your time to hike. (I'm heading out right now on one.) Take care!!

It is almost impossible to keep up with all of the blogs that I enjoy reading, plus posting, commenting, and my 3 websites, not to mention life. It all adds up to a lot of time and some people just don't have the time to keep up. I don't know how you do it!

Blogging (the writing part) isn't that time consuming, but reading all the interesting blogs I follow and then commenting on them....that is what consumes me. But, I love every moment of it. I'm a stay at home wife (just recently) so I read all the blogs early in the morning beginning at 5:30 a. m. That really doesn't take too much time to catch up on the reading. My problem is that I start clicking on all of the other blogs listed on the blogs I follow and that's where I lose myself when I should be doing housework. I then check for new updates about twice a day. That's how I keep up with it all. I'm early to rise and late to bed. It's like waking up with a good book and going to bed with one.

I'm new to blogging, just started the end of January. I've got 42 I follow currently. And then there are those I pop into once in awhile. It can certainly take a lot of your attention...but is so much fun. So much good stuff out there.

Funny, Sunday's post was sort of about this.

Maybe it's summer's fault. Lot's of interesting bloggers are out of the picture currently. I like to think they are on a beach or out in the woods enjoying the nice weather. Living life. And I like to think that they will return shortly, re-energized and full of good stories.

I'm beginning to think that blogging and those to whom we become attached are some sort of karmic group from who knows when or where. & the magic of the internet and software allows us to reconnect.

Oh there is just never enough time. My poor dog just sits and stares at me pecking away at the computer. I feel bad, but I do love visiting my blog friends. Wish I had more time to reach out.

And, yes, we do get attached to fellow bloggers. It's sad to see them just fade from our cyber life.

It's been hard jugging everything during the summer with trips and relatives visiting, so I limit the blogs I check in on. And your blog is one of the ones I keep up with. I appreciate your posts.

I don't have the time to read nearly as many blogs as I would like to daily. I try to stop in on my faves at least a few times a week. Summer is a down time with family vacations and family busyness.

I have been blogging since February.

I work long hours and enjoy lovely times with friends, family and loved ones ...

So blogging and reading and commenting comes after all of that.

I do enjoy it though ...
I am not committed to daily blogging or commenting ...just as much as feels good.

I love blogging, and reading blogs but yes, sometimes I can't do it all. :-0
On those days, I may only read a few and usually yours is read every day, Nancy. LOL

I start getting nervous when I get over 200 posts in my blog reader. Today, I am working my way through them so that I get caught up.

Rain just commented on my blog, so she must have just been taking a break.

It is weird how attached I get to my blogfellows. Weird in the sweetest, most human way possible.

Hilary said...

It can be incredibly difficult to kep up with everyone's posts. I try hard to comment on most, but geesh.. if a couple of days go by, I've got close to 200 to read, and so that just can't happen. I do tend to read most of them, skim some, and delete the occasional few. I keep up when I can and am amazed and warmed by how many continue to come by and visit me. Your wonderful self included. :)

What a coincidence... I was just looking around for someone who is awol, so I know what you mean!

It seems that blogs become another obsession/career/addiction....so I take a break every once in a while, it keeps things fresh even though it may drive others crazy. Smiles....

You made me realize I haven't heard from certain "readers/followers/fellow bloggers" and I need to contact them to see if they've moved on or if something has changed, etc. Good point.

I love to go through the list of blogs I follow and comment all of their blogs. It's hard for me and I only have 14 followers! (which I am very proud of!)

I hope to gain more as time comes. I want to blog more and more and it's becoming a grand hobby. Every new follower I get inspires me to blog more and keep them on their toes!
Your blog is by far one of my favs.

Oy! I still try to read every post in the blogs I follow! Right now I'm in day 2 of trying to catch up to what I missed while in London! Unfortunately that means it's time I'm not spending editing photos and actually writing about London on my own blog! :p

I feel guilty when I add someone new to my looooong list, as if they are going to notice if I read them often enough or not. Ha!
It is hard to resist so many fun & interesting voices out here in blogland! I love it!

So odd, isn't it? There are folks who commented on my blog regularly a couple of years back - and whose blogs I visited and commented upon, with joy - who just seem to have disappeared. The hope is that they haven't actually departed life :-)
