I took this picture on a hike the other day. Can you see the sliver of moon? But what struck me was the color of the sky. We were at about 8,500 feet, so I don't know if that had anything to do with the color, but I can't remember ever seeing the sky that color of blue during the day.

Excellent pic. Good rich colors. Beautiful.
Just simple, blue and gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.
absolutely breathtaking - wonderful colors! would love to see skies like that every day!
Tahoe has such beautiful fresh air and I do remember the sky there..everything about Tahoe is rich and crisp..
So intense. I'm sure the altitude had some to do with it, above all the pollution and dust.
You have an affinity for blue. Look, it matches your borders and type ... hmm..
wow. seems a small pebble on an ocean of blue. great shot.
its almost the same color of your background on your computer....but oh, oh, so much more beautiful up in the sky....how blessed to be in such a wonderful area
Beautiful color. It almost seems like an autumn sky.
That is such a lovely shot. Makes me jealous to be stuck in a window-less dungeon all day long. LOL
Bluest of blues!
The bluest sky I ever saw was in British Columbia on a sunny day high up in the rockies, maybe the height does have something to do with how blue the sky appears. Great shot.
Beautiful!! And I love seeing the moon during the day... it's almost like a little peek at the future!
It's the same color as your blog background!
Hi Nancy,
That is beautiful.
Love,
Herrad
The only place I've ever seen that color was outside of Santa Fé one clear February day. I took a whole lot of pictures and was so grateful that the color on the (back then) film was true to the day. Beautiful picture.
Lovely picture. I wish I could see a sky like that, it's nearly always grey here ... occasionally when we're given a few days of summer we get blue and white. Oh I remember blue skies and long summers but the sky was never the same blue as in your picture.
Ah YES the blue skies of Tahoe. When I first saw the lake, it was after a drive across the country. I came across Nevada on Highway 50 - just me and a bunch of road kill for hundreds of miles.
Even before the terrain changed, even before I started climbing up the east side of the Sierra or saw the land become greener, the sky got bluer. I'll never forget.
And I'll never forget my first glimpse of the lake. I felt like John Muir. It was miraculous.
GREAT pic.
What time was it? It looks early morning or late evening. It is definitely blue.
Lakeviewer - It was about 11:00 a.m. - It looked almost dark -
The sliver of moon is beautiful against the vivid blue. We often called skies like that Caribbean...perhaps because we wished we were there at the time. Gorgeous!
Very beautiful sky! I like the way that the trees frame the moon. Great shot!
very beautiful!
Isn't it wonderful to be out in nature. I love it...makes everything seem right.
I love it. I used to see it a lot when I was in Portugal. It is wonderful when you see the full moon in a clear blue sky.
You seemed to have captured a moment in time.... I hope you have good memories attached to the image.
Something about a deep blue sky and the moon just makes me smile. Great photo.
Beautiful photo Nancy! You know, when I hear the word "cerulean" I automatically think of Bob Ross and his paint palette! I'm off to a hike today myself! The rain let up overnight, so I'm going to enjoy the sunshine and climb the mountain again! Have a great day!
Rain
October sky in July;)
MPM said exactly what I was thinking.. it's like an October sky for sure. Lovely!
