A Note to Blogging Friends

Dear Blogging Friends,

I have been a bad blogger. I haven't visited your sites as much as I used to, and I thought an explanation was in order.

A few months ago I realized I was sitting way too much. Between doing my own research on what I thought might be going on in our crazy world, reading your blog posts, watching news sites, reading copious amounts of books and material, I found myself sitting all day. It was not only bad for my body - it was unhealthy for my mind as well.

I decided I could do one of two things - I could be a good blogger and enjoy visiting all of you each day, or I could try to bring information to you - and let you decipher things for yourself. I knew full well that a successful blog is a give and take experience. The more you read and comment, the larger your readership. But I had to make a choice for my health. I simply could not read everything as it required sitting in one place all. day. long!

The choice I made was to be a place where people could go to get ideas and resources so that they could make their own informed decisions. I hope I have prevailed in that endeavor. Through Sitemeter I know many readers continue to stop by and I hope you will stay with me as we work on our new website.

Please know that I value your writing as much as my own. I have learned much from my blogging friends over the last couple of years. You are an inspired and creative group of people, and I fully expect to have time to visit you once again in the future. That is the beauty of a shared writing space - it will not be just my responsibility to keep relevant.

In the meantime, I am working on some interesting threads for our new website. It now has a launch date of June 11, 2012 at 1:30 PM, EDT. (I hope to find a countdown widget for the sidebar.) Trish, who is an Astrologist, did a chart to find the best time for launching, with all the planets aligned for a great outcome. In the meantime, I will continue to post here on occasion and hope you will all forgive me for not visiting you over the next couple of months as I'm also in the process of moving. (sigh)

Thank you all for stopping by and being a part of my life. You have enriched it immeasurably, and if you decide to move on I wish you only the very best in the future.

Nancy

Nancy, I am always thinking that I am a bad blogger because I am not reading other blogs. It is very hard being a single mom of three, plus working, plus in college. I think my readers understand this. I am not blogging for any other reason but to just share my life with others... so I am not so concerned about numbers but more concerned about connections (which I think really makes me a good blogger.. ).
I am really looking forward to your new posts, especially those about getting up and moving and health.

Nancy, our health is always the most important consideration and I've had to make that decision recently too...out of the chair more and less sedentary time. Wishing you and Trish and Rob the very best in the launch of your new site...and that your move to a new home will take you one step closer to living the life of your dreams. Blessings to you.

i know exactly what you mean, nancy, about the sitting.all.day...blogging...thing as i am right there beside you, having come to the same exact conclusion - no one loves the connectivity with others through blogging more than i but i have come to realize that i need - want - that same connectivity in my real life more than i have it when i am sitting at a computer for hours every day - and thus, my own absence lately from my former routine of blog visiting - so - go forth in the knowledge that you must do what is right for you as we each must do - and that your friends here are never further than a click away in this virtual family of friends - i look forward to your new blog and all it will bring - much love and peace - jenean

Each blogger has to develop their own method of keeping up. I know how difficult it can be to hop around from blog to blog AND tend to other aspects of life. Not to worry, Nancy. You blog the way you see fit. It's not always about returning all visits. You have a lot to offer. I'm happy to absorb what I can from you. Your posts are always a welcomed sight.

It seems we all love blogging - but definitely sit around too much!

I have exactly the same problem, and I learned this week that my cholesterol is up. So I, too, have to change my ways. Not easy, but so necessary!

I find I have the same problem. My health was being compromised by sitting too much in front of the computer causing sciatica. Gosh, that is painful so I keep my stove timer on to remind me to get off my computer and exercise and/or do something other than sitting.

My pain got so severe that I had to go to therapy. Sitting too long for anyone is not healthy.
Hope to see you online whenever it is convenient for you.

I dont Post as often as I used to as well.

Nothing to forgive; I am equally guilty. Take care of yourself. I do enjoy what you post--you manage to find information and anecdotes no one else does. Thank you for that, Nancy.

No worries...I think blogging should be fun. When you find yourself thinking you SHOULD do things a certain way it's time to evaluate the bigger picture.

It's not like you've made a permanent decision. If and when you decide to return more fully to Blogworld, it will be waiting for you.

Not to worry, Nancy. I'll still be back here from time to time, but like you I've stepped back from blogging - for a while, at least. It's good to have the update from you and I wish you well with the new site, and your other move.
