Happy Holidays

I'm happy to report that I will have my family home for Christmas after all. I will be able to feed them from my own kitchen. It means catering to one that is vegetarian, one that is gluten free, one that loves beef, one that loves bacon and sausage, and one that is on a diet. I'm not sure what we'll be eating, but it should be interesting.

I'll be able to play with my grandson on Christmas morning and watch all of the excitement of Santa through the eyes of a four year old. If he is anything like his mother, he'll find it hard to get to sleep on Christmas Eve.

I have much to be grateful for this year, including our goofy tree with the angel that never seems to stand upright.

Wishing all of you a happy, healthy, holiday season. May all of your wishes come true.

How timely. I just finished a conversation with my friend in CA about her anticipated holiday meal at the home of someone who serves Tofu turkey but she can't eat soy. I can so relate to the variety of diets everyone has going these days. I never know what to serve. I like to tell folks to bring one of two dishes that they like so they can find a few things to eat at the buffet. I'm eager to hear what you serve to your guests. I could use some suggestions.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Nancy. Regardless of what else you serve, I know you will be serving lots of love and hugs:):) Here's a big hug from me!

R.J. - It is so hard to find things to serve anymore. I have given up on dinner guests. It's just easier to get together with friends at a restaurant where everyone can order what the want. I know we'll have prime rib for Christmas Eve dinner with portabella mushrooms for the vegetarian. Other than that, I'm just going to cook a variety of dishes and hope something is there for everyone, lol.

Merry Christmas, Nancy. I remember the days when everyone ate just about everything. Now, I'm resorting to take-out Chinese food more and more often.

and the same to you Nancy. I'm so glad that you're going to have such a wonderful family Christmas. I had to smile at the dietary requirements. It was the same in my house last Christmas. One of the family has a severe nut allergy so none of us could eat any nuts! Try that at Christmas. It felt like everything had nuts in it! We managed....

Thanks for the holiday greetings! I can't wait to hear what you served ... wow ... what a challenge!

I'm sure you met that challenge with aplomb.

Happy new year. Onwards to 2012! Do you get a feeling for the new year? It feels good to me - but 2011 was such a great year (except for the summer) maybe I'm still riding that wave.

May it be a great year!
