Strange Sounds From All Over The World

What are these sounds that are being heard from all over the world? They seemed to have intensified after the first of the year. None are exactly the same, however.  Any ideas?

Update: Linda Moulton Howe has started a report on these sounds at Earthfiles. She said there are some that are fake, and gives examples. However, she has letters on her website from individuals, as well as some additional information on the sounds themselves. You can view the report here.

Perhaps the planet is speaking to us? If so, I wonder what it is saying! I think I can guess...

Wow... I don't even know what to say about this... they do sound a bit.. ominous, don't they?

They actually sound kind of familiar to me, but perhaps that is because I live only a few blocks from a freight yard.

Star - I have thought the same thing. Is it Gaia? Is it the HARP program?

Jen - Some of them sound like trumpets, and some sound like screechy metal sounds, so I can see how you can liken it to freight yard. Some of them sound harmonic to me - almost like a frequency.

Nancy, I too have looked this subject up a few times, the first being about 3 years ago. I actually typed in: strange hum, vibrations, heard in Illinois (or something like that). I read several stories about people who claimed to hear ongoing low humming of some sort all around the world. But it wasn't until last year that I saw any YouTube video capturing audio. I don't know though about this particular sound in the video. It sounds the same all over, which lends me to think it may be fake. Some videos also have a bird screeching at the exact same time on the video regardless of the location. So people may be using the same tract. But despite my doubts on this particular sound, I do believe something at some point was or continues to be creating an audible hum of some sort. That is why I searched for information on it long ago. We have lived in this particular neighborhood in Northern Illinois for about 8 years now. We do have train tracks right outside our subdivision which can sound very loud sometimes when the freight train comes through ( which isn't often thankfully) especially if the wind is just right. And we do have about 10 minutes away a major highway. But the highway doesn't give off much sound at all from here and at night, it isn't very crowded with traffic, yet a strange low, constant vibration would drive me crazy as it would last for a few hours in the middle of the night, ranging in intensity. I thought it was the highway, but we are a bit of a distance. And if it was why don't we hear it all the time? The train sound comes and goes but this lasts. Other neighbors mentioned it too after a while. But now we don't hear it as much, except once and awhile and always late around 11pm. This sound made me look up what I found is now called The Hum. Our sound isn't so creepy as the video, but it is intense sometimes. Low like the train, but it just hangs on the air and vibrates. Kind of annoying to me. Not sure what it is. It is interesting.

Really???? Where are the news reports we would expect if sounds like these were heard in the more populated areas where they supposedly occurred? If something like this occurred in any populated area in North America there would be hundreds, if not thousands, of 911 calls. And why do so many of the sounds have the same noises in the background? Why aren't any of the people in the videos saying anything about what they are hearing? The only comment heard was on the video taken in the forest. If this were really happening there would be dozens/hundreds of people outside looking around for the source of the sounds. Yet most of the videos don't show any people at all. I'm not buying this at all. Someone is creating a hoax, perhaps related to the Mayan calendar ending this year.

Brian - It is interesting, that's for sure.

Cole - So you are hearing a hum in your neighborhood? I've been following stories about grinding sounds from what feels like under the earth - especially from the Maryland area, but these are not that.

JT - Maybe. I just really don't know.

Here is one from Amarillo, Texas:

well, i have to say up front that i'm skeptical of this one - too many things about the different videos didn't make sense to me - and i'm wondering if any of the major news media has investigated/filmed that same phenomena -

however, interesting nonetheless -

Nancy, from time to time I hear a low vibration sound as do some of our other neighbors. It can be annoying as it is so slight of a background noise. It must be sound coming off the highways or something. Either way this occasional noise is what got my interest in searching on line some time back to see if there was anything being reported. Thankful it doesn't sound like this War of The World sound. I am skeptical of the multiple videos of this sound myself as well. Who really knows.

fascinating - if one can put aside skepticism for a moment you could imagine this as the voice of mother earth... for some reason it makes you wonder if it's the same vibration that creates the crop circles?

Nancy said...

Gypsy - I never look for anything on the major news networks anymore. This topic is on several wbsites - Whitley Streiber has said he and his wife have heard them recently in California. I just cannot say one way or the other.

Cole - There are so many strange occurances - crop circles, ufo sightings, earth changes, etc. These could be made up - but what about the one in Amarillo, Texas? Do you think they somehow made that one up - maybe to get attention for their radio station?

Amanda - Wow, that is a thought...

JeannetteLS said...

I want to believe it is not a hoax. We may hear those five tones from Close Encounters at any moment. That's what it feels like. But I am skeptical, even though I would rather it be something beyond our small earthly selves.

Nancy said...

Jeannette - Skepticism is not a bad thing. Especially in this day and age where there is so much deception.

If you have ever watched the movie "Red State" most of those sounds sound exactly like the trumpet on the movie which was made somehow inside of a silo. Here is a link for you to check out. If it's not clickable just type in Red State Trumpet on youtube or copy and paste and it will pull it up for you..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItD6dQa5ncw&list=PL440D989CF7813BC4

The Hum actually has its very own page on wikipedia where there are some interesting possible explanations. Then there's the potential it could be caused by ELF (extremely low frequency) communications systems. Or it could be aliens.

What people think the aliens are doing:
"Let us concentrate our mighty Galactic Third Eyes of Agape and send our Empowering 4 Dimensional love to the Earthlings at this time of Transition!!"

What the aliens are actually doing:
"HAROLD!"
"WHAAAAAAAT?"
"Get up! Your brother's broken Sol 3 again. He's turned the Core inside out. It's started making all those funny sounds again"
"MUM, EEEES ALLLLWAYS DOING THAT I WANNA STAY IN BED" etc etc

ps: After a little more reading I found the entire 'strange sounds' movement seems to trace back to a single site: strangesoundsinthesky.com, which launched in 09.11 by someone who identifies himself only as Jay Man, and the site itself was registered anonymously through Domains By Proxy. Hoaxers always love anonymity.

Nancy said...

luksky - I tried to find the site but it said nothing could be found. Interesting that it could be a manufactured sound made in a silo, lol!

Susan - LOL!! If there are aliens, I can totally see this scenario. I'll have to check out ELF - maybe that's the hum that Cole and her neighborhood is hearing. Also, good to know about Jay Man! Geeze...

When these sounds appeared in "River City," one tv news station followed up with a sound specialist. That specialist said these sounds are easy to fake. Which is about what I would have say, knowing what I do of sound production capabilities.

Let's face it; we live in an era of conspiracy theorists. We just need to keep that in mind.

Rose said...

Scary.........what could it be?

Nancy said...

Cloudia - It's about time :-)

Rose - Well, if it's not a hoax by Jay Man (See Susan's comments), I just really don't have any idea what it could be.

Nancy said...

Rob-bear - So true. Unfortunately.

ok - so just to add still another twist - yesterday morning i was in the part of the house which is at the foremost opposite end from my "space" - in any event - probably around 9am est - and i heard such a sound - a very very loud humming sound - it was very very very much like the sounds on the videos you posted here, nancy - i was in the midst of brushing my teeth and i stood there holding the tooth brush in mid air as i listened spellbound! i hurried to finish and then came down to my space where i could go out onto my sunrooom that spans the length of the house - the sound by then was even louder - as i opened the door and stepped out into the glassed wall sun room, i looked up to see the fields across the road and the entire sky filled with snow geese - i mean, one solid "wall" of geese emitting this incredible humming sound as they took flight - now, i've heard snow geese - all kinds of geese, really - in huge flocks since i've lived here in the midst of their migration paths - but i'd never heard this sound from them - all i'm saying is that yesterday the sounds they made as they took flight were louder and different than those i've heard before - and i'm not at all implying that the sounds heard round the world are snow geese - not at all - i'm just relating what i heard in one specific incident yesterday - such a thought-provoking phenomena regardless however - thanks for the update, too! ;)

T&R - Very strange if it is true.

Gypsy - Wow, I wonder what startled them to move in such a huge group? I wonder if that is what Cole is experiencing in her neighborhood?

Nicole said...

Hi all, well it is interesting that we are about 25 minutes from the border of Wisconsin. I don't know anything about the ELF system. You would swear it was a train or something, but I have actually gotten into my car and drove to the tracks near the house during the "hum" and nothing. No train from my view point. On the other hand we have a ton of geese around here. Flocks of them just flew over our house as a matter of fact about an hour ago, they were very loud. Still though, it sounds more like a low traffic hum, maybe that is all it is. But I swear, one morning, I wouldn't be surprised to see the mother ship sitting pretty in the sky in our back yard. I would just say while sipping my coffee, I knew it!

Nancy said...

Cole - I have no doubt that day will come.

The earths core is tilting fast and applying force to the crust in different areas then before. Its getting ready for a pole shift. The outer crust spins more than two times the speed of sound. The core spins faster. The core and the crust are not spinning at the same angle now. The noises are friction and the slowing of plasma between the core and the crust. When they slow through the speed of sound all sounds from sonic booms to scraping metal or weird music sounds are possible.
The north pole has been moving at 800% more than normal and has left Canadian waters and is now in Siberia. The core is very tilted and the crust is displaced quite a few degrees. When the sun has a pole shift next year we must be ready for an earth pole shift.
I am sorry for drawing this conclusion.
Bill

Nancy said...

Becky - Thanks for dropping by - yes, they are eerie!

Bill - Thank you for your comment. A pole shift is certainly something I have considered. I'm hoping that is not what it is, however...

I'm late but still... don't you think it looks strange that no birds react to that sound? The people making the videos are usually filming up, towards the sky and top of trees. And no birds get scared, startled and fly away. Did you notice that?
