Pirate Radio

We picked two movies to watch this weekend. My pick was a flop, in our opinion. We didn't make it to the end, despite Ricky Gervais, a favorite of mine. I can't recommend The Invention of Lying. However, my husband's pick rocked - literally! We loved this movie! Without giving away the plot to those that might want to watch it - just let me say, if you love rock and roll, especially music from the sixties, you must watch this movie.

Two big thumbs up!

I'm glad that at least one of the films was a success. Shame about the Ricky Gervais film. He usually makes everything he does a success!

Funny that I had the exact same conversation with a friend of mine, last night, regarding the Invention of Lying. She, too, said it was awful.

Thanks Nancy. I wouldn't pick it from the images on the box, but with your recommendation I'll certainly watch it!

Oooh! I saw this a couple of months ago and thought it was a blast!!! THe music is just wonderful and the characters are all so much FUN!!! You can't help have a smile plastered across your face and your legs wanting to move to the beat throughout the whole movie! :o)

I was disappointed with the Invention of Lying too. I wouldn't say that I hated it, and it did have its moments but despite how I adore Ricky Gervais, it was no Office or Extras.

I'll put it on my Netflix queue, I love sixties music. Thanks for the recommendation and the pan. I'll skip the other movie!

What a shame about the first movie! I love Ricky Gervais! But every good comic does a flop now and then huh?

Thanks for the movie tip Nancy. I watched Cat's Meow and The Answer Man this weekend. Both were good and worth a Net Flix spot in your queue.

Ooh, good to know! I remember making a mental note to check this one out when I saw the previews; it looked fantastic. Thanks!

I like the new look:) Are you still playing with the templates?

Love Ricky Gervais, but the previews to this just didn;t appeal.

Will fire up netflix and set this up for when I get back

Thanks, Nancy! I wanted to see this movie. I remember Wolfman Jack and pirate radio so well and sixties music! The best. Thanks for sportin' my button. I'll be grabbin' yours now.

That's the third recommendation I've had for the movie, so I'll be watching it for sure. And speaking of movies, I went to see 'I Love You Phillip Morris' last night and, well, it all worked in the end, but what a weird film!! Jum Carrey just cannot be taken seriously.

Good, I will add it to my movie list. Thanks

It's strange, I didn't care for "The Invention of Lying" either, although I love Ricky Gervais. I thought it fell flat.

I hadn't thought of renting "Pirate Radio" but I do love 60s music.

And ... thank you for the link to the new templates...! It's always fun to have a change once in a while, isn't it? :-) I love your new look.

Always good to get a recommendation on a worthwhile movie Nancy. Here's one back: The Man From Earth. Another worthwhile film I just saw. Don't confuse it with the David Bowie.
