No More Bah Humbug!

Okay, so I admit I've been a bit of a downer here the last few posts. So now it's time to think some positive festive thoughts. How about sharing your all-time favorite holiday cookie/dessert/hor'doeuvres recipe? Drop me a comment by Sunday if you would like to participate, and I will post it on my blog on Monday. Please include the name of the item so I can link your blog and your recipe title. That's Monday, December 7th!

I know just the recipe I want to share...

oh, girl! holiday recipes! yummmm...

sorry to change the subject from happy fun holiday times, but, lest i forget, did you happen to catch the new conspiracy theories show on trutv the other night - it's being hosted by jesse ventura [of all people] but i must say that it was rivetingly interesting - this one on the HAARP PROJECT in alaska - are you familiar with this deal? i had only vaguely remembered having heard of it several years ago - but the show really exposed it - you might wanna check out the show on tuesday or wednesday nights [gee, can't remember which now] - airs 10:00 pm EST on TRUTV!

have a beautiful day!

I have a fantastic one! Take a package of cream cheese and put half a jar of pepper jelly over it. Serve with crackers and watch it disappear! A good old southern staple;)

I am so glad to have found your blog.

I don't think it's bah humbug to cause us to all think about how things have changed.

I know I, in the past, bought too much for my girls at Christmas time.

I look forward to December 7th.

I have written myself a note!

My favorite holiday recipe is to take all of the cookies in front of me and eat them. Wait never mind, that's not a recipe. Nevermind.

I'm so sorry to read the sad news about Roxy. Those naughty dogs are so dear to us, aren't they?

Sorry too to learn that you've had "it" - the flu virus that can not be named.

God Almighty 2009 has been one hell of a year. I can't wait for it to end, really I can't.

Sending love and healing energy to you!

Oh ... my fav X-mas treat by far is rum balls. I can eat them until my stomach hurts.

These should make for some appetizing linksw. I'm not much of a baker so can't provide a recipe; one of my favorite cookies comes from an old-world bakery in the South End of Hartford, as good as home made, I can assure you. We make a stop there for goodies every Christmastime :)

Great idea Nancy! I don't have much to share except for this little comfort drink!

Peppermint Hot Cocoa

Ingredients:
Hot cocoa
Either peppermint extract or peppermint liqueur
Whipped cream
Candy cane

Directions:
Mix to taste, top with whipped cream; and add a candy cane as a stir stick.

Simple but effective!!! :)

Nancy, I didn't think your last posts were "Bah Humbug" at all. You're very intelligent, and I love your posts that have substance.

The whole internet is turning into the "women's afternoon tea party". Your blog is always one of the more interesting ones.

Cheers!
Jo
