I can see why both of my daughters are so happy here. The "vibe" is one of inclusion and tolerance. It's okay to be who you are. One of the blogs I recently read talked about "personas" and how she had changed over time. Somehow the 60's "persona" stuck in Portland. A little hippy, a little weird.

I want that double bike contraption! My older grandchildren all think it is a hoot that I ride a tricycle. They would really love this thing. I am so glad that in the midst of all the disturbing events of late that you are able to have some good times with your daughters! Have fun!

I lived in Portland in the last 70's. Except for the non stop rain, it's a wonderful city. My sister lives in Eugene, just down I-5 from Portland.

I live in Austin, Texas. Our slogan is "Keep Austin Weird". Austin, also is very inclusive and accepting with a lot of the artsy side to it....glad to know there are other places in the U.S. that live by the same standards. :-)
