I am reminded of Chalmers Johnson's book, Nemesis (he died last year), where he writes that we are worse than Romans. Farther extended around the world as we seek to be the new Spartans. The majority of polls today reflect the American people's disinclination to be involved in any front. So why the fuck are we still in Iraq, Afghanistan & now Libya? It's the same old story, politics, the military, big business and old men making war.
