Portlandia

There is a new program on the Independent Film Channel, "Portlandia", with Fred Armisen of Saturday Night Live fame, and Carrie Brownstein.  He is doing both programs simultaneously, evidently. He moved to Portland a few years ago and was obviously intrigued by its essence. The city that has bumper stickers asking to "Keep Portland Weird." It is a short comedy series of only six episodes, but from what I've seen so far it is really funny.

We lived there for 2.5 years and both of our daughters live there now. The oldest wears wings on a regular basis and the youngest thinks she is much more attractive when she wears a teddy bear costume. You get the picture... :-)

I was only in Portland once. Interesting city; building a great downtown. And a grand book store.

Never heard of "Portlandia." Don't know if we can get it in Canada.

Interesting too; the building on which the sign appeared was for lease. Any significance to that?

Trish & Rob - It is a fun city - especially for the young at heart.

Rebecca - Thanks for dropping by.

DJan - To me, too.

Gypsy - Yes, you would fit right in! :-)

Brian - Armisen seems to have captured the essence of the City.

Good Cook - As do I!

Miss Sadie - No significance to the sign. Although kind of a sign of the times, isn't it?

These are a scream. I'm sending to two best friends of mine whose kids now live in Eugene and who hope to sell their home in San Diego and move to Portland. bwaahahahaha. They've been like this all their lives. Takes the Sally character in "When Harry Met Sally" a giant step forward on the ordering meter.
