2012 & Web Bots

Have you ever heard of Web Bots? The Web Bot Project is an Internet software program designed by Clif High and his partner, George Ure, and claims to be able to predict future events. It was originally designed in 1997 to predict stock market trends, but the designers also claim that it can predict future events such as 9-11, American Airlines flight 587, Northeast Blackout of 2003, 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake, Hurricane Katrina, and the BP oil spill. They have also had some misses such as a massive earthquake that was supposed to hit Vancouver and the Pacific Northwest in 2008, a complete collapse of the US dollar in 2009, and a missile launch on December 14, 2010 that would start World War III.

How, exactly, does this program work?

From Wikipedia:

Internet bots monitor news articles, blogs, forums, and other forms of Internet chatter. Words in the lexicon are assigned numeric values for emotional quantifiers such as duration, impact, immediacy, intensity, and others. The lexicon is dynamic, and changes according to shifts in emotional tension, and how humans communicate those changes using the Internet. As of 2008, there were about 300,000 keywords in the lexicon, along with with emotional context indicators which are fed into a computer-generated modelspace. They then use a technique called Asymmetric Language Trend Analysis (ALTA) developed by Clif High to generate a predictive report from a fully-populated modelspace. These predictive reports are known as ALTA or Web Bot reports. The 2010/2011 report underwent a formatting change and is titled The Shape of Things to Come - Volume Zero.

The creators of this software keep the exact methodology secret as they sell the reports on the Internet. But the idea is much the same as the little dot on the left of my blog, which if you click will take you to the Global Consciousness Project website. I talked about it here, in a previous post. The main concept is that "as the mind moves, so does matter" - Dean Radin. The little eggs that are placed all around the world, and directed by Roger Nelson from his home office at Princeton University, went crazy two hours before the first plane crashed into the World Trade Center, for example.

So what does all of this have to do with 2012?

Well, that is the interesting part. According to this particular Web Bot technology - there is absolutely nothing between December 21, 2012 and May 30, 2013! No chatter, nothing. A complete data gap. They say it could be a solar flare, an electromagnetic pole shift - they just really have no idea what it could be. They've had hits and misses in their predictions, but what fascinates me is that there is nothing there to even predict. But then it starts back up again on May 30th, 2013??

Needless to say, I'll be watching my little dot very closely during those months.

Nancy, I found this so fascinating, I have put one on my blog too. I do believe there is something to it. Nothing in life is completely random, is it? There seems to be a rhythm to everything.

Thanks for the explanation. Gotta get me a dot. :)

Hmm...a little bit freaky. So is the technology going to crash? Really strange to have nearly 6 missing months. Of course, all of this could change drastically before then, right, since we create our own reality.

Nancy said...

Jo - There certainly seems to be.

Natalie - They didn't have these little dots when I did my post on this project, but once I saw Trish & Rob's I had to have one! :-)

Whitney - Very good point. This is looking at mass consciousness - maybe if we could unite we could create the future we want.

Very interesting and I guess that means that we can all plan on taking a 6 month break from blogging, then. lol Maybe it's just a glitch in the system, since they've been wrong before. Have a happy weekend!

so i need about 6 months of food...intriguing...

It's all very interesting.. and a tad ominous. Gonna delve into that dot.. well not literally, I hope.

Nancy said...

Margurite - I think I'll stock up on books, just in case. :-)

Brian - Might want to entertain the idea.

Hilary - I find that dot very cool. So far it has been white and a soft green. Not much going on, it seems.

I like that dot being nice and serene. What an amazing thing it is! I saw it first on Synchronicity blog, and now it's popping up everywhere. I do wonder about the missing half year. We will be there soon enough... hope it's benign.

very interesting. had no idea what they were.

Nancy said...

DJan - Yes, I noticed it on Synchronicity and just had to have one! :-)

Cloudia - Yeah, I kind of had the same response.

Teresa - Neither did I. It came up on the program "Decoded" on the History Channel the other night.

I don't know which is scarier--the blank between 12/21/12 (nice symmetry) and 05/30/13--or the fact that everything we think, feel, say or do can now be reduced to binary code.

Their project is fascinating. Have been following it for several years. Ure is something of a fear monger, though, as you'll see from his blog, urban survival. it does make perfect sense to use the internet as an oracle!

Nancy said...

ds - You have a point.

Trish & Rob - It does make sense, and I got the same feeling about their gloom and doom outlooks. I will only go so far with that stuff. Have some things put aside for an emergency and then think good thoughts and enjoy your life.

Fascinating stuff... I've got to look into this more closely now, I'm intrigued!

PS, I am back and no longer eternally distracted :)

Nancy, the term Web bot rang some alarm bells for me so I went looking and found an explanation on Wikipedia of botnets. I guess the technology for both of these 'bots' must have some similarities, but it's all over my head.

I was prepared to dismiss the whole thing, frankly, but I have spent some time this morning reading the Global Consciousness Website and contrary to what I expected to find (or NOT to find) there are citations and some very specific, comprehensive information. What I haven't yet understood is the connection between the data they gather and human consciousness. This is internet-generated data, not neurological/behavioural data. Admittedly, I could read further and spend considerable time trying to figure this out, but I don't know that I will. And for future predictions, there I am extremely skeptical. Measuring reactins to actual event si fone thing, but how can it be said with such certainty that there will be no data at a future point?
These are not questions I expect you to answer, Nancy - just trying to sort this out in my own head and determine how much of my reaction is critical thinking and how much is knee-jerk skepticism.
But certainly, it's fascinating! You do come up with the most interesting topics!

Fascinating and a tad scary. Maybe the "nothing" is peace!

omg! Nancy just amazing... i need a dot.

Sex, Drugs - Glad you're back! And with a new blog name?

Deborah - The idea behind both of these projects is consciousness and an interconnection between people. The eggs are different from the bots - in that the eggs are randomly placed all over the world and the bots are looking at what we are talking about on the internet. Both have to do with humans having a sense of things happening before they happen, they are just using different means to quantify this interconnection. Do I believe everything the the Bot company has to say? No, but I'm intrigued...

I'm always looking for patterns in human consciousness. :-)

Nancy said...

Good Cook - Maybe - why not?

leilani - I like the dot, too! Does it work? I have no idea.

Oh Dear....I am in the heat of planning a wedding for our daughter for May 29th......maybe I could save a lot of money....smiles.

Nancy said...

Emom - I wouldn't put any plans aside just yet - as Trish said in an earlier comment, this company tends towards gloom and doom and Deborah brought up a good point - how do they know there won't be Internet chatter in the upcoming months?

gypsywoman said...

oh, nancy, i am SO glad you posted this - i saw this last week or so and kept thinking to send somebody a note and/or to do a post myself - and then got distracted - yeah, the whole thing about the missing time period - weird! but - for me, the thing is NOT to focus on the doomsday theory else we WILL SURELY CREATE the doomsday with our thoughts - i have debated over a year as to whether or not to buy even a gallon extra of water, because i don't want that possibility to come into my own individual consciousness enough to even consider that i NEED to buy water - know what i mean? in any event, thanks so much for posting -

Nancy said...

gypsy - I do know what you mean. I do that with disease. I don't let it become part of my psychic reality. So far it's worked pretty well - knock on wood. However, I do feel we should be ready in case of an emergency - Katrina taught me that. (Plus we just had a swarm of 27 earthquakes right below my house.) Then go on with our lives, think positive thoughts and not worry about the future. What will be, will be. We need to spend more time in the Now, which of course relates directly back to what you said.

Okay, I'm with Brian... need about 6 months of survival supplies!

Nancy said...

Jane - We've been gathering supplies for some time now. Just in case. We can't always rely on the government to swoop in and save us, that's for sure.

i'd heard about the experimental project that picked up mass emotional energy fluctuations before 9/11 but this is very interesting to read as it expands on that theory.

thanks again for yet another fascinating post, nancy.
