So we were having a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner - 21 in all - when I noticed my brother, who
loves Thanksgiving wasn't eating. That was the beginning - by Sunday six more were down with a
nasty stomach flu. There would have been more, but they had already had it the week before. I'm sitting in bed writing this, thinking how fast something contagious can spread. We really are at the mercy of things that we cannot see.
Next year I will be thankful for something that I hope will
not be sitting at the table.

Sorry you and your family are sick. It IS amazing how fast illness spreads! How you are feeling better soon!
Families share. Hope you recover quickly.
ugh...our nephew got sick and i am afraid he passed it to cole...
Oh dear; how miserable. With 21 people, that is a LOT of sharing.
I was just writing about my own "cold season." Btw, I ate an early Thanksgiving dinner with my parents in Texas (sweating, on the porch, in 87 degrees) and arrived in England the next day to freezing temperatures. Almost everyone I know has a cough!
oh, hope all are all better now, nancy! those little things have a way sneaking around to us all, don't they - while we didn't have quite that many, we did manage to get by without incident in that regard, for which i remain very thankful! take care, lady!!!
Oh no! So sorry! Hope you all recovere quickly.
You're back! Sorry to hear about the family being sick!! Start the frequency book. Good one, Nancy!
Feel better, Nancy. Speedy recovery to you and yours.
Sorry so many are sick. Hope you all feel better very soon! XX
Yuck for sure!! I remember that happened to my family one year except it was during a family reunion in November. Hugs to you!!
I'm sorry that you and yours are not feeling well. I wish you a speedy recovery.
Oh gosh... not a way to spend the holiday. Get well.
Bugger! I won't hug you in case I spread more germs. :( get better. ♥
We caught it to... strep throat.
Loved having my nieces and nephews here... BUT
Ah well In a week, only the good memories will stay
Did you get a flu shot? Did it help you not get sick? I'm wondering about those who didn't get sick: were they all somehow resistant? Sorry to hear about the unwelcome visitor!
Ew. Hope you're feeling better. Those stomach viruses are draining.
I'm forever grateful we didn't get the flu this year, thank you flu shots. And so far, knock on wood, the kids haven't brought home anything nasty from school. Fingers crossed and all that. Get well soon.
Oh, I am sorry to read this! Hope you and your family are feeling better, and that next year includes no more uninvited "guests"!
So sorry to hear this! Get well soon! And try drinking peppermint tea, it really helps!
We had the same experience when our grandchildren came to visit-they brought every bug known to civilization with them!! Be well quickly, a miserable way to end a happy holiday.
xox
Nancy,
I live in fear of getting sick right now. Who will take care of me? Hope you are feeling better.
Oh I'm so sorry to read you got sick over the course of your planned wonderful holiday. I do hope you're all recovered now.
Hope you are feeling better now!
It is terrible of me to laugh but your final sentence really got me!
Truly, good wishes sent in hopes you are all well by now (did you have a flu shot?)
