After reading through all the comments from my last post, I've found that I share virtually 90% of all of your phobias. I might not suffer to the extent you do, but they are all on my list of what I like to avoid. From dentists to flying, from freeway driving to spiders, not to mention {{shudder}}
doctors, we all share similar stories - at least one thing in our lives that really gives us the willies!
Since I share so many, I think that makes me thoroughly neurotic, LOL!
I think you are completely, utterly, absolutely normal. Does that make me neurotic too?
ReplyDeleteIt means either we're all nucking futs, or we're all normal.
ReplyDeleteYou pick!
I don't know how normal you are in the real world, but in my neurotic, OCD, world you and I are very normal!
ReplyDeleteI think it means that you are just as "normal" as the rest of us...I think you are absolutely wonderful! Happy weekend! XX
ReplyDeleteIt would seem we're in great company.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised at how alike most of us are when it comes to phobias. I have a phobia of doctors too, and yet I work in a medical institution -- the CDC -- and I am surrounded by doctors, laboratories, researchers, medical equipment, sick patients, clinics, etc.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you're neurotic, I think you're perfectly normal -- just like the rest of us. ;-)
haha. its nice to know we are all in this together...smiles.
ReplyDeleteYou got me at 'spiders'!!!!
ReplyDeleteI had a friend that had the same fear.
So much so, that she actually stopped her car in the street and jumped out - leaving me in there to deal with the spider and the traffic!!
I was a hero that day - I smushed that sucker!
(I needed a ride home!)
Hugs,
gabriele

ReplyDeleteOh poor you!!! I'm not sure I would agree that all this is normal, but then again nobody knows what that is anyway.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about neurotic, but you're definitely aware of your likes and dislikes, which is always a good thing!
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh! That means I'm normal?
ReplyDeleteYes, it was truly interesting to read about all the phobias we have, and some that even I don't share. I have plenty, though. That was a fun exercise.
ReplyDeleteReads and feels like good company over here. Please have a good Sunday you all.

We're ALL neurotic!
ReplyDeleteyeah... how about listening to people chew food, or forks scrapping teeth? or your coffee lid touching a countertop??? ugh. or drinking out of the same water bottle, or any bottle for that matter...? ugh.
ReplyDeleteneurotic is good. ugh to all the other stuff!
Love the Jung quote and am borrowing it!
ReplyDeleteThere is a profound difference between something in our lives "that really gives us the willies" and a true phobia.
ReplyDeleteThis post was my attempt at levity - please don't think I really believe a phobia is the same as something we like to avoid. I realize phobias are debilitating, and take them very seriously.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Brian, at least we're all in it together.
ReplyDeleteTo be sane in an insane society is no measure of emotional health :-)
ReplyDeleteHe he. I just read the previous post but thought I'd leave my phobia here. The only one I can think of is that I have a fear of not having had enough sleep the night prior to a day-from-hell. It's happened to me, which is why I panic over the thought!
