And the recipient of The Shift is....

Mental P. Mama! Just drop me a line Mama, with your address, and I'll stick this movie in the mail to you. Wow - and it was your birthday yesterday, too! It was meant to be. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. My husband, who actually drew the names, wanted to watch it twice. Yes, the man who reads most things having to do with finance and economics, wanted to watch it twice. That in itself is a "shift."

Thanks for playing along everyone. I'm so happy to hear it is on Netflix and Blockbuster. If you think you might be interested in Dr. Dyer's movie, then it certainly is worth a Netflix risk.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We are essentially snowed in. The main artery between Reno and Sacramento, I-80, was closed for ten hours last night. A big pileup, complete with four semi-truck and trailers and fire. Who, if you were to ask my opinion, would say they drive way to fast in most inclement conditions, and always scare the @#$@ out of me when I'm trying to stay out of their way. So we will, in all likelyhood, miss our friend's Greek surprise birthday party on Saturday in the Bay Area. I was looking forward to some Greek dancing ( me, in an awkward way), plenty of Opa's!, and lovely people. Instead it will probably be a Netflix movie and trying to stay off the roads and out of the way.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, wherever you are.

  1. Oh, I'm sorry you are going to miss your party. We have had lots of snow days too, this past month -- and like you, I just want to stay off the roads. Too many bad drivers!

  2. oh, you know, sometimes those snowed-in's can be just the ticket - however, with a greek festivity to attend, it really would be second chair on the snow-in - we were actually supposed to have a few flurries today - but now doesn't seem too likely - and the temps still have not melted the big pile of snow out on the curb - at one time a few weeks ago it was at least 10' high [snow plows pushing it all up] and now down to about 2' - anyway, just dropping by to say hello and see what's shakin' over at your place - have a glorious/warm day, lady!

  3. Glad to hear you will not try to get to the party, even if it sounds great. And I'll get it on Netflix! Always looking for something good to put on my queue!

  4. Glad to hear you'll be staying off the roads, they sound treacherous there! We've been having unseasonably mild weather here on the east coast, in the 40s this past week. Which is so not New England January weather. I like winter though, and hope for more cold!

  7. Glad that you and yours are safe at home, even if that means missing such a fun party. We are suppose to get snow all weekend too and as of right now we plan on not leaving our house until Monday. Happy Weekend! Lori

  8. I will have to rent that DVD. We have been slammed with rain, rain, and more rain down here. I am sick of it! My other house, (the one that hasn't sold yet) is in the foothills and covered in snow. At least it's not snowing here. I am hunkering down. Movies are a great comfort. Sorry you'll miss the party, that sucks.

  14. Crazy about your weather. Too bad about missing the party. We've had many parties canceled for weather ourselves over the years, but this is Michigan! We have a party tonight in fact . . .
