My husband has revisited his hobby of bread baking. The problem? A house smelling of fresh baking bread, and a crock of butter softening on the counter. It's going to be a long winter.
So...... when can I come over? Freshly baked bread is my achilles heel. I'll bring the beef bourguignon to go with the freshly baked bread. Oh, heavenly... :-)
I was once told when we were going to sell a house to put a loaf of bread in the oven...it gets the buyers salivating and the place smelling of home. I couldn't agree more and what better thing to do over the winter than bake bread? Have your husband do it!! Looks delicious!
Tell him since he has figured out the art of bread making, that he can now move on to beer brewing. Sort of the same process, with much more lucrative results!
We're always trying to bake bread at our house. Both hubby and I are competent cooks and bakers--but neither can manage to pull off a nice loaf of bread. Mine? Door stops. His? Taste too yeasty.
I wish i had a hubby who liked to bake!!! I think the smell of baking is one of the best fragrances lol. Yes, it's been a while (it's more difficult than i thought - sustaining this blogging thingy). thanks for leaving that lovely comment and i'm really sorry about your friend.
As it is mostly bread which I do share eating with my son in the morning, this was of interest to read, as I love only a few things more than bread. A wonderful, bread and life filled weekend for you.
Bread making is something amazing. I love it. It reminds me of those wonderful smells when the bread comes out of the oven. Oh, and those look delicious.
My husband was into this for a few months too. The standup mixer still sits on the counter in our small kitchen, though he hasn't made bread in months.
Mmmm...looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI've found that when there's always good bread in the house I have a bit more willpower than when it's only occasionally there.
Life is good! Great hobby for a husband. If I want to eat, I better be healthy and energetic.
