The Wine Country

We are currently celebrating my husband's birthday by having triple cream brie, a fresh baguette, some tiny gherkins, and more than a tad of a great bottle of wine for lunch -  all in the lush California wine country. If ever there is a time to nap after lunch - it is in the wine country. The European cultures that nap after lunch have it right.

I've been thinking about all of those generations where people drank beer and wine throughout the day - how in the world did they ever get anything accomplished?

  7. I think they watered it down.

I have heard the the 'siesta' countries are trying to do away with it as it makes doing business with non-siesta countries difficult.

  9. So happy you are enjoying the wine country. It's peaceful walking among the vineyards, isn't it?

I think our culture could benefit from afternoon siestas. I hope on your next post, you will recommend some fabulous wines.

  16. Here - I wouldn't hesitate to suggest some fine wines, but was a little disappointed that they were not pouring their less expensive wines. It seemed as though they were all over $25 per bottle. A change from our last visit - 12 years ago.

Pat - Thank you! I'm not either, a couple glasses and I'm pretty much finished for the day.

Gypsy - Thank you! I hope you had a lovely day as well.

T- Thank you - same to you!

Claudia - Thank you! You must stop a sip a few wines on your way to Clearlake.

    Sallie - Yep, not bad!

Riter - Thank you! I loved your addition of all women who want to become mothers...

Gypsy - Thank you - same to you!

Hilary - Thank you - I do think he enjoyed it. I loved that pic as well.
