Remember Spring?

  1. Beautiful flowers.

Even though it doesn't feel like it, I know spring is coming...the house is brighter in the morning a few minutes earlier than it was at the Solstice, and it's not as quick to get dark in the afternoon.

  2. The shortest day of the year is history. Spring is close. Closer in Florida than in most places, probably. But it's chilly here tonight.

  3. Nancy, It was 60 degrees here today. Buds are beginning to swell and there isn't much snow on the peaks around us. I for one will be happy for Spring to be here!

  5. I'm in Southern California, it's still like that. I am dreaming of snow and wondering what it would be like to live in it.

  7. In the 20s here this past weekend, with windchill in the single digits. But I guess it's the writer in me, I like the winter, the inclination to stay inside, sit by the fire, coffee, comfort and writing. I like Spring too, but don't really mind January :)

  10. It was warmer here in Bellingham in the PNW (by far!) than it was in Miami. I talked to my sister in Florida and she couldn't believe how beautiful it is here right now. We are gaining almost two minutes a day, too, so spring is not far away...

  11. Yes, the days are already noticeably longer. My earliest spring bloomers were already coming up in December. The baby-blue-eyes are usually blooming by the end of this month and the pear trees start in February.

  13. Nancy, as I was out walking yesterday through my neighbourhood here in Vancouver, I saw a beautiful pink rosebud. And a few blocks away is another shrub bursting with pink blossoms. I am going back today to take a picture of them.

  16. counting the minutes until the sweet sweet first breaths of spring, actually, as i've plenty of time for such indoor activities with temperatures hovering around 25 degrees F here - that's before windchill -
