  9. I have always lived the East Coast. Hatteras NC with the beautiful has been my favorite experience so far. But your West Coast is so breathtakingly different. I hope I have the chance someday to head out your way. I've become a regular follower. I enjoy your blog.

  12. That what exactly earth is. Even I'm far away from Oregon Coast, but your photos helps me to visualize a peace in my eyes. I hope there are many places on earth that still shows its original beauty. Many people in my city, including me, must realize it soon before we destruct them to be business place like what I saw here.

  14. I trained with Farrell's for 9 weeks in 1973 in Portland, Oregon. Didn't have any transportation so all I could do was walk around downtown Portland. Beautiful part of the country but I never did get to see the coast line. What a disappointment! ! ! Would like to go back there someday.

  17. Nice photos! The rocks remind of of an area in Canada. Hopewell, New Brunswick. That place is famous for the Hopewell Rocks on the Fundy Bay. The time between low tide and high tide is about 6 hours, and it's just an amazing natural wonder. The rocks there at low tide look like flower pots and you can walk along the beach; at high tide, the water rises about 50 feet. When I visited, I walked the beach at low tide, then kayaked the shore at high tide. Our world is amazing!

  19. Beautiful photos. I visited that coastline in July a few years ago, and I remember it being cold but very romantic. I'm used to Florida coasts though.

The unexplored life is definitely not worth living. :)

  25. Are you at Canon Beach? I had a friend who lived there during the 1970's. I used to visit all the time.

My sister's favorite little beach town in Yachatz, south of where it looks like you are.

I can smell the air just looking at the pictures. Beautiful!

  26. Hi everyone - Yes, this was Canon Beach on the Oregon Coast. It is just beautiful and we would just love to live here! - Reya - how lucky was your friend?
We only stayed one night but would highly recommend the Oceanfront Lodge. It takes pets, is very nice, serves breakfast, and right on the most amazing beach!

  33. The times we've gone there the fog rolls in and it's been cold. Once it even rained for two days. Your great pictures will have to serve as proof the sun does shine on the Oregon coast.

  38. You did a wonderful job catching the moments in your pictures. I just spent a week on the midatlantic coast - very different, and also beautiful. I love the ocean.
Thanks for giving me a glimpse of the other side.

  39. These look like vacation photos... and looks like you picked a great place! lovely!!!

I wish I remembered that region better... I visited the Oregon coast in summer of '87 (as well as some of B.C. and the Canadian Rockies), but that trip is kind of mixed up in my memory. I do have a clear memory of seeing grey whales from the coast during their summer migration north. Was wonderful!
