We were lucky enough to have a very nice townhouse apartment above OHSU for eight years but then developers bought the property just before the crash. It is small and cozy and right next to a creek. It just doesn't have all those windows!

Blissed - Yes, maybe! Although the Prior Lake house was a worry, as it was outside of the Twin Cities on 2.5 acres and gas had just jumped. The market had just dropped, and it was the summer before the big bank bailouts - in 75 days only a couple of people had even looked at the house! Then in walked a man that just bought it on the spot. You just never know...

Chris - I can just imagine! But my values have changed over the years. I no longer can justify living in such a large house with only two people. Maybe if I had my family back (and yes I miss them as well), but otherwise it is just too big. Now a little cottage with all of the same attributes...Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13178290697351352495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5571749075036803790.post-8571463074240094022012-02-03T12:00:17.232-08:002012-02-03T12:00:17.232-08:00Oh1 you really want it back, don't you. When I moved to US in 2006, this one was put up for sale, but it never sold. Must have been meant to be. Then the prices went down and down and we took it off the market. I'm glad as I still have it. I can't let it go!
Your house (ex) is beautiful. I can well understand how you loved it. You yearn for it again don't you. Perhaps you also yearn for the people who lived in it at the time. It is really awful because it doesn't feel like your home the minute it goes on the market.

DJan - Thank you - it really was an elegant home - maybe that's why we are no longer there? We're not very elegant.

Kathy - I had help - but I agree! It was three levels, to boot!

T&R - That was just ONE of the things they had us do! It was just crazy. My friend from CA still mourns the house they had to leave in Ohio. We left a house we liked, but hated the neighborhood. When we sell our current house, when the market improves, I want to move and sell it empty. I can't live in a house and try to keep it perfect for a showing. You went through a lot to sell yours.R.
